Interview with Mr.Crumpets
Nicky3Fingers
Why did I lose? I started my campaign too late. By the time I started Tim had KHMC endorsement in the bag. That brings him at least 70 votes.
If I had more time, I might have been able to lock in the ANP's endorsement which might have got me over the line.
Still, when you look at at, Tim polled LESS than the total membership of the parties endorsing him, while I polled MORE than then total membership of the parties endorsing me. It seem I won the swing/uncommitted vote.
2.Do you plan on running again next month or in the near future if at all?
I've made a post in the GGP forums tonight declaring I will run again in March.
Starting the campaign early this time will allow me to highlight what Tim is doing and what my solution would be. Of course there will be trolls that will attack an idea because they don't have an open mind, but I hope I'll be able to win over more voters by guiding them through my thinking step by step.
3.Do you believe that Tim_Holtz has the ability to turn things around? At least as much as the current situation allows?
No. The fact is whatever 'Terms of Surrender' puts on the table, it will never stick. There are a few basic reasons. 1) Whenever Indonesia get bored and need some fun (or a babyboom) they attack us. No agreement will ever save us from that. 2) Chile have had the taste of power and power corrupts. Whenever they need an ego boost, they'll attack us. 3) There is no 'cop' around to enforce the agreement. We thought we had one with the USA, but it turn out they don't want that role. With no Cop, whose gonna punish Indonesia or Chile when they break the 'Terms of Surrender'?
4. Do you have any advice or something that you would like to see Tim do?
Tim has to learn the lessons of the Greg MacGregor Government he was in. He must outlay the ideas he has for this 'Terms of Surrender' and when he hopes to have it signed off by. The longer he takes to do this, the tougher it will be for him to get it past the senate.
Plus if there isn't a deal done by the 22nd and Australia has lost (or is looking like losing) it's territories, senate might get nervous and hit the impeachment button.
5. Do you have anything else to tell myself or the people of eAustralia
Yes, I'd like to give a big thank you to eAustralia for allowing me to run and a big thank you to those who voted for me. The close race gives me heart that almost half the nation believes in my views on Foreign Affairs, that we must explore and find new friends and rethink our game strategy.
I hope that in the next month I can convince that remaining 1-2% of voters that I offer something new and our country will return to the good times we had in early 2010 when we had new friends and we stood up to the bullies.
Sit tight eAustralia. We'll survive this month of pain, then we'll face a new world and new approach to eRepublik.
I had intended to release this article earlier, but RL issues made that nearly impossible. And for that i apologies to MC over that issue I hope you all enjoy it and any criticism would be greatly appreciated
if any one knows how to make horizontal lines i would appreciate an message i have tried everything to no avail thanks

that explanation of the FA quandary is the best I have read yet.
Good work Nicky.
where did i say i was going to surrender to Chile or Indonesia?
point me out to where i said it please
Question for MC: "Do you feel that de-legitimizing the current administration in public where enemies and potential allies can see it actually helps the situation?"
"Do you feel that de-legitimizing the current administration in public where enemies and potential allies can see it actually helps the situation?"
@Valentyme - explain how I am 'de-legitimizing' the government? My position has been consistent during the campaign and after the election. The fact is, the result was razor thin. Our community is divided on the issue.
Also, I'm 2nd in line. I'm doing my best to show what plan I have. There is a possibility (remote, but there) if Tim got impeached for any reason (senate disapproves of him or a RL personal situation happens) I'm in the chair.
Remember, the Chile CP how renewed the 'terms of surrender' with XG was impeached and all hell broke loose.
The reality is Tim has to find peace (that it is very difficult as outlined above) or start building our defences (MPPs) NOW. The reason is, with nothing in place, Indo and Chile might attempt to wipe us from the 23rd meaning no senate elections. Senators might not be crazy on that.
If Tim hasn't locked in things, senate *might* think about hitting the button. By myself continually outlying my plans, it gives them an option is they are worried about no elections.
Nothing is fool proof. My plan might not work. However, at least they will know what is being attempted.
It just seems like the election is over an Tim won, but for you the election is not over. You have been attempting to combat him at ever turn/move he makes. The truth is, things will take time, the only solution to having congress this month will most likely to be talk things out with Chile/Indo/Cot. There are no potential allies currently that would help us A. because they are fighting desperately for their own regions, or B. because they just don't give a shit about Australia. Even with allies, if Chile/Indo choose to wipe us, we'd be hard pressed to stop them. Right now is not the time to make rash solutions, its time to take the time to make logical solutions.
As to your last comment, "Nothing is fool proof. My plan might not work. However, at least they will know what is being attempted." I have no idea what you would be attempting as your FA policies seemed to contradict themselves. In one article (http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-mr-crumpets-4-cp-my-foreign-affairs-team-2203957/1/20) you claim you will, "Meanwhile, the diplomatic door will be SLAMMED SHUT on eChile." then a few articles later you said, (http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-mr-crumpets-4-cp-australia-it-is-time-we-made-a-decision-2206883/1/20) "You knew I was going with a 'Get Tough' approach with our enemies Indonesia and Chile." Then Larni herself said she'd be approaching CoT. So which would it have been, no diplomatics with them and straight to war, or diplomatics? I am quite confused on that matter. What would you different if you were CP?
Also you are writing off Tim as a failure before he's had a chance to even tackle the situation. Maybe if the people gave him support it would make his job a whole lot easier. If 50% of the country is determined to make sure he fails, its likely he will fail. Its time to look past political agendas and for everyone to work 100% towards the unification of the country. Stop building walls, and start building bridges.
Its only appropriate that i troll on this since you all feel the need to do on mine, but....ill be the bigger man here.
Valentyme your actually right on a bunch of things you said, and Crumpets i know what your going threw and trust me, they wont understand man. I might be wrong on this Crumpets, but i think your setting the standard way to high. Your expecting things that......probably will not happen, you, tim or jesus could be CP.
Dude just go low for like 1-2 weeks, rethink your A-game and go at it again. Just please for heavens sake, pay closer attention whos on your cabinet.
Good article. V+S
