eAustralia 2013 is so 2009

Good Evening eAustralia,
Earlier today, Mick Gatto (TJ Norton) posted an article... deleted it... posted it again... deleted it... posted it again, etc...

The basis of his article was to talk about the new coalition he helped form (The Axis of Evil) between the ACP, the KHMC and the APP.
All this talk of Coalitions, a New Party, Occupation, split community, got me to realise that we have gone back in time to 2009!
I was amazed how the eAustralia of 2013 is almost exactly the same as the eAustralia of late 2009. The only difference being NZ is in the game and Chile doesn't need to go through Africa to reach us.
Let's compare the years in categories...
Coalitions
2009 - The ADSP and ACP form a Left Wing Coalition. Under the old senate model, ACP run candidates in NT and Tasmania, ADSP run candidates in the other states.
ANP and TBP consider a coalition, but argument between centre-left and centre-right factions in the TBP stop the coalition from ever becoming a possibility.
ANP, Australian Independents and TBP remain independent of each other.
2013 - The Axis of Evil is created when a coalition of ACP, KHMC and APP team up. They vow to support one candidate for each CP election.
ARP, ANP and GGP choose to remain independent.
Non Forum Player Creates New Party
2009 - After being suspended from senate, Paul Hamon vows not to take part in senate again and runs his PaPP separate from the forums, choosing in game communication only.
2013 - After rage quitting the forums, Icetek vows to destroy eAustralia - changes mind, support Tim_Holtz in election, then creates a non-forum party the PDP.
Treaties and Occupation
2009 - Ranger Bob, Scotty and Mel Smith try their best to arrange a fair deal with Indonesia over Western Australia. The Indos are late in returning the region and a despute over the treaty occurs (regarding buying out Indonesian WA based companies).
2013 - Greg MacGregor, Xavier Griffith and Tim_Holtz try to secure eAustralia it's land via diplomatic channels.
eChile disputes the treaty, eAustralia gets occupied by three nations, treaty goes to CoT Court.
Stop Being Neutral, Make New Friends and Get Our Land Back
2009 - Cottus Arci proposes Operation: Two Fold Bay and argues we take back WA with the support of the USA and EDEN.
SRG91 is MoD and argues against it. He favours being partners with Indonesia and possibly joining PEACE GC.
Prime Minister Patti11 swings Operation Two Fold Bay in action. Victory sees a speedy MPP done with USA and Australia moves to join EDEN.
2013 - Larni, Infini and Louise Brooks argue that Australia should cease trying to be friends with CoT and action be taken to get our land back.
Icetek and other CoT supporters argue for talking things through with Chile.
Prime Minister candidate Mr Crumpets promises to slam the door shut on CoT and promises quick and speedy MPPs with Anti-CoT nations.

I was in the ADSP at the time, it was the best! 2009 was this games prime man..
I was one of the 4 founders of the ADSP, but left when its policies moved too far to the left for my liking and created the AI with Calibur creating the ANP on 2 hours after me : ). Only 2 months later the far left shakers in the ADSP broke away and formed the ACP. I agree the game itself was much better them, I wouldn't say Aussie politics was.
Just because something similar was done 4 years ago does not mean it is the same as this.
And seriously, the "Axis of Evil". Funny, but unnecessary.

Similar but there are key difference. For one, Hamon didn't bother with getting into arguments and was more focused on recruiting noobs.
And no one is anywhere close to doing things like Cottu and Patti.
