[THC] Another poor showing at the polls/7th Armoured Division Disbands

With at most 85.43% of supposedly involved voters (741) and only 24.76% of the general public (2557) voting in yesterday’s CP election in the eUK, once again it has been proved just how engaged the general public is.

On the surface of it the elections should have been a much closer affair, with almost the entire aligned vote going to the staples of British politics, the TUP candidate Artela (43.45😵 and UKRP candidate Frerk (43.18😵. However this wasn’t the case.

With a possible 96.89% turnout by the TUP (230 members) and ESO (92 members) in support of Artela (320 votes), in contrast to the maximum Frerk (213 votes) camp turnout of 66.56%, she swept competition aside on her march to eDowning Street, and straight into an undeserved impeachment attempt.

However, party apathy didn’t just affect the UKRP’s 163, APP’s 84 and UKWP 73 members or even 1 wing. The PCP (61 members) candidate, Steeeev, garnered at most 62.3% of his possible vote whilst Michale, BEP (26 members), encouraged 76.92% of his.

Where did the rest of these votes go? Well with at least 14.57% of supposedly guaranteed voters going missing and almost three quarters of the populace not doing the extra couple clicks it takes, the biggest winner (besides Artela) was Rodney McKay whose tally (51) was 425% of today’s RFA membership of 12. This turnout moved him into third, but hardly nipping at the heels of the big two.

But are things really as bad as they seem?

When compared to the top ten populous and experienced countries (from official figures) the eUK voter turnout is quite good in comparison. However, smaller countries, as further shown by Ireland, will have a higher turnout percentages.

So while the situation is worrying, it seems that, apart from in Turkey, the problem is endemic. The MoHA does have plans this month which aim to target both player retention and involvement and a clearer picture will be shown in the HoC elections on the 25th.

Now, to those of you out there who get your friends, family members or people off the street to join up: help them get through the initial confusion, don’t let them get bored and together we can put the “Great” and “United” back into our country.

7TH ARMOURED DIVISION DISBANDS

It had only been around for a short time, but had a profound effect on Northern Europe and South America over the last few weeks, along with its member’s military ranks.

Yet with the retirement of Alfagrem yesterday, citing the destruction of the economy module and Romper’s 3566G worth of tanking in one day, the eUK lost 2 important things, a powerful tank who recently saved the South East of England and Northern Ireland, along with a well funded, resolute militia.

Many former “Desert Rats” lament their unit’s dissolution whilst others remain; standing guard with unloaded guns, but all wish their Commander a happy retirement, however long it lasts.
