[Lonqu] Realities of a PTO
Lonqu
Hello.
This newspaper has been essentially gathering up dust for a long time, since I have not participated in high-level government work for some time. However, I decided to dust it down, sit down and write about my views on this whole debacle of a situation, in order to give a personal viewpoint from someone with sadly too much experience of what a PTO is.
Note: Apologies, my article-writing is a bit rusty.
1. Loss of Political Liberty
Some argue that NE and TUP fight too much and it is harming us. Well, that is a good point, but it proves one thing. We have the privilege to fight whenever and whoever we want. Likewise, we have the privilege to join whatever party we choose, to argue our ideals, to do whatever we want in the great political kaleidoscope that is the eUK. That is what makes the eUK beautiful as a political state, if one relegates the occasional personal attacks to the back of his mind.
A PTO means we will not have those privileges and freedoms any more. It is important we kill off any threat to our political life before it starts to spread. Look at Singapore and Thailand – effectively New Serbia and New Romania. A complacent guy would argue that this won’t happen to us, we’ll be fine. Bulls*** I say.
2. Loss of Administrative Liberty
This is basically a knock-on effect from the loss of political liberty. Right now we have a dear Congress, who do nothing but argue all day and vote on legislation. The government informs Congress and includes them in decision-making processes.
Now, imagine a hostile gaining the Presidency and us not having more than 66% of the seats in congress. It would be impossible for us to impeach him. Sure, we could vote down his proposals and make our own, but there are always metagame decisions to do, such as agreements etc. And this PTO CP has no obligation to consult Congress. Some countries will always recognise a PTO government as legitimate, and give us a steaming diplomatic mess if the eUK does ever come back to power.
Now, think of it the other way round. We have the Presidency, but no control of Congress. We’d be able to do metagame decisions, but no ingame decisions. And I won’t mention what happens when they get 66%. You’ll know already.
There are a whole lot of points I could make, but I don’t have the time. You might be surprised at the venom in this article. I have experienced the stain of a PTO in eIndia. Some in the eUK say a PTO will be fine and dandy (Sexagenarian, I’m looking at you). I completely assure you it will not be. Stop blaming each other. Forget political divisions – put them to one side, and pull together. Nip this in the bud before it spreads. Because once it spreads, we’re going to have quite the fight on our hands.

Nice info..
"PERTAMAX from eINDONESIA"
1) Loss of political Liberty?
You mean I can't join or create a party or vote the way I want to? Nope
2) Loss of Administrative Liberty?
For months there has been article after article saying how useless congress is and its only a rubber stamp for the CP. Does anything change? Nope
As I keep saying no one has produced any evidence that a PTO will change anything for the average player. The current government and congress are manipulated from ePoland, the only thing that changes with a PTO is that the CP and Congress are manipulated from eSerbia.
Tell that to the average player in eNK...
The majority of the "how useless congress is" articles comes from NE members. By a coincidence, it was NE's congressmen who gave the majority of the citizen passes to the PTOers.
I have had many players quit the game because of PTOs. You just can't say it doesn't change anything. What has happened in the last few weeks? We were invaded and we battled out, as a country. I found it fairly fun. You will not see anything like that when we actually become puppets.
There is a big big difference between manipulated by Poland and the government deciding Poland are the better option.
Not in his delusional mind. Don't bother using rational arguments Carlini, he just likes to argue for no other reason than that he can
Go live in Thailand or Singapore for us and report back. It would be a very scientific experience I am sure
What will change for the average player is that UK will not be the nation of UK. It will be a puppet from another nation. The players that will decide what is happening in UK will not speak English, they will use their language and decide without any discussion behind closed doors. You can say we are manipulated by Poland, but even when that is true it is us that choose so. When people realize they are puppets they will loose any commitment to UK in any way and UK will loose more and more players.

Read this and tell me there's no proof...
"As I keep saying no one has produced any evidence that a PTO will change anything for the average player."
Have a think about game mechanics, a serbian controlled congress & CP can reject MPP's, ruin war strategy and lead to permawipe. Wipe means bad economy means everything worse for the average player. On top of that lots of key players will leave for economic bonuses making it worse, and congress can do whatever they want with taxes further ruining the economy and affecting 'average players'.
It also blocks the political side of the game to the 'average player' and to new players who might have wanted to get involved, as they can't participate in government (and to some extent congress) as they would otherwise which kills potential and interest of players by removing an entire aspect of the game from eUK citizens.
These are literally the first things off the top of my head after thinking about it, are you really saying you don't think it'll make any difference to the 'average player'
I prefer Frederick.
PICK A GOD AND PRAY.
The eUK is in the fortunate position of having recognized this problem early and had people speak out about it. We shouldn't waste this opportunity to take ATO measures to remove threat before it is too late.
