Home Office
eUK Home Office
Following the election of Malta as our Country President the Home Office became a stand alone ministry (Ministry of Home Affairs). Prior to this many of the functions that are now to be taken up by the Home Office were conducted by the Ministry of Information and Education. Along with some of the older, well established functions from MoIE, the Home Office will be running a number of other programmes.
National Newspaper Association
The National Newspaper Association publishes, and will continue to publish under the purview of the Home Office, a weekly a round of important media releases from both our own national press and international press. It is often difficult to know all that is going on at home and, more particularly, abroad. The Association aims to bring to light some of the most important items to the public’s attention so as to raise awareness and understanding of things going on.
Here is a link to the paper where the Association publishes, we highly recommend that you subscribe to this and add the Association as a friend so that you may receive a round of the important news.
Ministerial Reports
The eUK Home Office will publish ministerial reports via its paper. This compendium will contain all the ministerial reports that are made by the cabinet every week. Each individual report contains key information on what each ministry has done that week. It is vital the public understands what each ministry does; they do, after all, work for you. With a greater understanding of the functions and duties of the ministries they can work more effectively for you.
The same paper also publishes congressional reports. These are reports containing the votes and passage of legislation in the House of Commons and House of Lords. Again, these are important pieces of information, so please subscribe to the paper and add the Home Office as a friend to obtain them regularly.
eUK Helpline
This is one of the most important functions of the Home Office. We will work tirelessly and as effectively as we can to support the citizens of the eUK. This is our primary role – together with the tools above, we will provide as much information, help and guidance as we can to the public. Communication is one of the easiest and most effective methods of support and encouragement. Understanding eRepublik and the government that we run can be a difficult task. Knowing what you can do, where to go, who to ask for help etc. is not always clear. That is what we are here for.
From the Home Office paper, this paper (which again, I highly recommend you subscribe to), we will publish important pieces of information regarding an enormous variety of topics, from the NHS, to fighting, to what you as a citizen can be doing to help yourself and your country. While the Home Office itself (which I similarly recommend all to add as a friend) will act as a hub for you to ask any questions you have. They can be anything from, my wellness is low, what can I do, to why can’t I fight or should I run for congress. We are your Helpline, we will answer all your questions.
Lastly, any message from the government can not go without the usual note to join the forums. It is in the forums where you will discover the heart of eUK. It is here that you can argue your cause, read up on what’s going on around the world and communicate with ministers, party presidents and the prime minister (he’s a jolly chap).
Thank you very much for your time,
Scipio – Minister of Home Affairs
Sir Graystar – Under Minister of Home Affairs
RodneyMcKay – Ministry Apprentice

Cool... Though what does MoIE do now? Other than Mod commons?
this is the list of things MoIE is to do on the ministerial applications thread..
- Moderate the House of Commons & House of Lords
- Correctly organise the legislative systems
- Oversee the education of the eUK's citizens (CORE and ACE examinations)
- Look after eUK laws
- Congressional Reports
- Freedom of Information
- The eUK wiki.
@ HazzN
MoIE will Mod Commons, Lords and Govt. Policies, oversee the education of the eUK's citizens (CORE and ACE examinations), Congressional Reports, Freedom of Information and The eUK wiki.

- Oversee the education of the eUK's citizens (CORE and ACE examinations)

Is all the same job, moderating three forums. It seems you've palmed off all the long winded and boring jobs on MoHA that's all...

And check out my newspaper; eUK MAGAZINE!
@HazzN
Now, MoIE is for Information and Education, as its supposed to be. NNA and Helpline are not in those categories.
British citizens! Friends of Romania! Friends of money!
Come to where the action is and earn a decent wage! “Mitraliere Drojdiere” company is hiring workers skilled in manufacturing. For skill 4, for example, the pay is 16 RON (a bit over 0.30 gold). The company is a Q1 weapons factory in Podolia, a nice safe region with a Q5 hospital. I will gladly provide tickets.
PM me mentioning your skill and your expectations!
Haha
"NNA and Helpline are not in those categories."
Helpline -- "Educating" people with questions they might have
NNA -- "Informing" people of newspaper articles that have been significant.
Good one Malta. You almost had me there
Underworld wins! (Assumes thats Deathtoll)
As has been mentioned many times, this does not need a whole new Ministry, just more apprentices for the MoIE, which I believed they already had.
it still doesn't directly fit in to either Information or Education. Look at any country and you will see the MoI does not keep people informed on local artices, but on what the government does directly. MoIE was too big and had too many roles. More apprentices does not sort the problem.

@hassan, DT/UW.. - not only does MoHA provide a different role to MoIE (MoHA; communication, teaching new citizens, support (i already recieved a number of questions after the article) - MoIE; a more serious and technical role, a ministry that isn't approached and can't be making articles about in-game functions, politics, our own forum made systems) but also, the Home Office is more identifiable with new citizens as a body that works for them and for their support than MoIE.
NNA comment = scipio
Curious, interesting and slightly boring 🙂
No. THe Ministry of INFORMATION has no role in educating NEW citizens on what they're doing.
Fantastic. The Beaurocracy is growing to fit the needs of the expanding beaurocracy.
Happy Birthday MoHA!
