[Artela] Manifesto, Parte the Firste: Home Affairs

Day 1,197, 15:31 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Artela

This first part of my manifesto will concentrate on Domestic Affairs. It forms the first of three parts, so there will be two more to follow over the next few days.

The point of eRepublik, this game that we all play, is that we should all have fun. To that end a lot of my policies for home are based on finding out what people want to do, and to hopefully find ways to translate that into more fun for all.

Fun is key to retaining players in the game once they get here. If it’s not fun, people leave. At the moment a lot of the entertainment is driven through the use of the separate UK forums. I will hold a referendum using the new referendum tool to gauge how the whole active in-game UK population feel about the use of this separate forum for all of our entertainment. I suspect that many of them would prefer to see more happening within the mechanics provided by the game itself, so I will also put in process an examination of the scope for running much of what is run on the forums within the game mechanisms so that the fun can be more inclusive.

I will also encourage the creation of a forum for the leadership of the top 5 parties to discuss ideas to improve the eRepublik experience for the whole UK. This forum will also double up to continue the anti-ATO work started by the previous administration, because, let’s face it, when someone comes along and tries to steal your homeland that is most definitely not fun (just ask the Americans).

During my term I will reintroduce the Monthly Citizen Awards scheme, and will arrange for this to be kicked off with an Annual Oscars Ceremony. In addition NNA will also continue their good work with rewarding good news articles.

The other thing that helps with retention is making sure that everyone is kept informed, and that help is readily available. Therefore I will continue the release of informational and educational articles twice a week, will keep the mentoring scheme going and will keep the liaison with the TUfP gifting scheme to ensure they have any help they require to run their scheme and make sure people do not fall between the cracks. A census of eYoung players will also be undertaken to see what they feel would be more likely to make them stay. I will also encourage the building of a new National Library, an idea from the ESO party, which will be a “one stop shop” for all help and guidance that has been issued so that people have only one place to go to find what they need.

So, as you can see, I have quite a bit planned under Home Affairs. I just hope the Ministry of Home Affairs are ready for it!

So, the tl;dr version:
Fun
Retention
Help
Inform

Look out for part two of my manifesto tomorrow. In the meantime, even before the rest of them are issued I welcome feedback from you, the voters, on anything that you have opinions on, including your views on items such as alliances and the region rental, and also the ideas from this part of the manifesto. I look forward to hearing from you.

If you wish to apply for potential cabinet positions, mail me (click on my signature) to be considered.

All the best

MBE CGC DSO KCVS
