Joining a Party

Issue #2

Once again, this article is aimed at newer players facing one of their earliest choices – “which party do I join?”

The first thing is that you don’t have to join a party at all. It is not compulsory. However, as our Congress and Country Presidency rely on the Party system, you should consider joining one. It is easier to organize people for elections if the Party people know their supporters.

The most powerful parties in the eUS (and any other country) are the largest five. These have a guaranteed nomination opportunity for Country President elections. They are also the only parties permitted to run for Congress. To get into Congress, you need to be on your Party’s official ticket.

As I said in my last article, not every American party is actually loyal or patriotic. Some are acting directly against the national interest. Beyond these threats, we have a free and open democracy with many genuine parties, any of which will welcome your membership. The loyal and patriotic parties compete against each other but unite against any external threat.

In the eUS, there is a large number of parties. I can only look at the top ten parties here. In order of size at the time of writing, they are:

1. American Freedom Alliance (AFA)DO NOT JOIN THIS PARTY. It is attempting to take over our country.

2. American Military Party (AMP) - This Party represents a cross-section of Military Generals, Congressmen, Cabinet Secretaries, and Presidents. They are active, focused, and eager to welcome new members! Check out their forum here and post in the Welcome Hall if you are interested.

3. Federalist Party – This was my first party and I always have a soft spot for it. I won my first term in Congress from the party. The Feds are dedicated to restoring government integrity. Their Party History is filled with Presidents, VP's, and leaders in every branch of Government. Their Party affairs are conducted here.

4. United States Workers Party (USWP) – I served a few terms in Congress for this party in 2011. It has always had some friendly and inspirational leaders. Once the largest Party in the whole of eRepublik, it is going through a quieter time these days. The USWP is America's most historically successful party. Electing some of the most respected and renowned Presidents and Congressmen, the USWP can truly claim to be the backbone of the eUSA. If you join this Party, join in the conversation on their forum and, in IRC, at #uswpchat

5. We The People – my current Party. We are For the People, By the People. For any assistance in-game, please feel free to contact anyone in leadership and they will be happy to help. Our forums are on the eUS forums and you can chat at #WeThePeople on IRC.

6. South Carolina Ulku Ocaklari – the home of our Turkish community in the eUS. Many other very experienced Americans also belong to this party. cCc South Carolina Ülkü Ocakları cCc ||| cCc in ci we trust cCc. Now taken over by the AFA people and re-named the Euro American Union - DO NOT JOIN THIS PARTY - NOW RESTORED TO ITS MEMBERS

7. FriendShip and honoR (FSR)DO NOT JOIN THIS PARTY. It endorsed the AFA candidate in the latest Country President election and therefore supports the attempt to take over our country. This party has now been rescued and supports loyal American interests. It represents the Romanian community in the eUS.

8. Vox Populi - "Voice of the People" Their forum is here and you can chat at #Vox on IRC. The Party Manifesto is here.

9. Albanian Unity Party – the home of the Albanian eDiaspora in the eUS. They stand ready to help protect our country from PTO-ers whenever we need them! Kanali zyrtar i Albanian Unity Party: #AUP

10. Socialist Freedom Party (SFP) – our very own revolutionaries! The SFP forum is here. The IRC is: #socialistfreedomparty Our comrades in the SFP say that they are the original party of the people's revolution and that socialism is the responsibility of every citizen.

Have fun and let’s keep the eUS in safe hands!
