The line never meant to be crossed

Day 1,555, 14:35 Published in USA Poland by AThompson

It was a time ago when I wrote an article. Today I’ve decided to do so, because today I have been experiencing an issue, which broke my belief in one more thing on eRep.

I knew a long time ago that the developer team does not actually know its own game, besides of this I knew that some of the trolls don’t really know where is that line, which not meant to be crossed. I’m not really playing the game, and I’m not really active anymore, but I think there are a few principles should remain as guidelines for those who would like to play the game with respect towards each other.

As you might know the organization of ONE HQ’s newspaper the Arbitrage West published an article, which was originally written by smee again, the domestic low-troll of EDEN. As you might also know smee again is running a successful business also know as his newspaper, an mainly gathering his subscribers by publishing articles with basicly the same content again and again. This is what he is capable of.

The ONE HQ newspaper has a history of abuse. ShadowMJ with a clever IRC trick got the password few months ago and published twoone articles, and now smee again did the same. Are you wondering how did he get it? You would think he made the same trick what ShadowMJ did.

Well, no. As a miracle made by the administrators few of the organizations originally belongs to its original country somehow got put on the national org list of the occupier country.

This way the ONE HQ’s Arbitrage West is on the list of the Canadian CP. This would not be a problem for any good person, but somehow the EDEN decided it would be cool to cross that line. So he asked for the password of he ONE’s org, and he got it. Then somehow the password ended up in smee again’s hands, or the Canadian CP simply published his article.

In a world of principles this is called unethical, and in a world of rules this called as system exploit.

The old HQ member of EDEN and a current CP of the very same alliance which published an article about how the national orgs should not be abused by the CP’s right to ask for its password made this step.

Besides of this they were not afraid of using system exploits, which - in a world of fair rules - should be rewarded with permanent ban.

The usage of system exploit considering the cases where you are using a hole in the program or the site to get advantages instead of reporting it.

As an example I can give you Struki, the original account of the Serbian legend, Kistru.
Struki got banned because after he found a bug without willingness (there was a bug on monetary market so you could earn infinite gold) he reported it. When he found that bug he used it unwanted, and after he reported it they banned him.

What is the summary of the article?

I always think about eRepublik as a game, not as a place where I can burn out my RL frustration, so I’ve been always trying to play this game with at least the basic principles. I’ve never thought a loser of a battle should be humiliated for the fact that they lost it, I’ve never thought a country on the opposite side should be handled as a piece of crap.

I think there should be a line which should never be crossed. I think in this case, just like when a country were using bugs to get advantages or when the Bosnians were hacking Hungarian and Serbian accounts to win resistance wars the line get crossed. When the Russian, Indonesian CP were using bugs to get tons of gold the community rose its voice against it, when the Bosnians hacked accounts even a few EDENite rose its voice.

Now the elite of EDEN is using system exploits to publish some article to humiliate the opposite alliance.

If you came here to play try to give some respect to everyone, besides which side are they on. There are enough tension, war, unfair issues in the real life.

We came here to play and to have fun.

P.S. As a bonus, the ONE's newpaper moved back to the original (now dead) org, because it was unrightful to move originally. The EDEN HQ sitting on the Greek Ministry of Health org. 😮
