Comments from your White House Press Secretary

As I said goodbye to our former president, scrabman, and turned off the microphone, I took one last look at the podium in the James S. Brady Press Room wondering if I would ever see it again. I slowly moved alongside the walls of the room remembering all of the moments in eUS history that I had been a part of. I see copies of past press releases on the wall that I had authored…the numerous war games held in Baja, Mexico and also with eIreland both in Rhode Island and also in Canada. I see the video of our soldiers’ victory in freeing Greece and Israel and the moment eUSA went from 4th up to 3rd in experience ranking in the world. I look at the regretted archived article that caused this WHPS to be temporarily banned for not watching his words. I look at the coverage of elections in which our allies were nearly politically taken over. I saw the introduction of new military units such as Airborne, Mobile Infantry and eUSAF to combat further political takeovers of our allies. I saw the article that covered the wars of day 541 when we had launched an invasion on Russia in concert with 17 different battles in the same day which was the last major coordinated effort among ATLANTIS allies against PEACE GC. I reported just after that about the “sinking” of the ATLANTIS alliance. I also remember the many hours at the State Department and in debating in committees on both military and economic issues which would lead to the development of our new alliance, Fortis.

There were many bittersweet memories I held onto as I took that last look at The Briefing Room. I turned off the lights and started to back out of the room when I heard a voice behind me...”Where do you think YOU are going?” came the voice of our new president. I turned around to congratulate our new president as he gave me a nod. He looked at The Briefing Room with me, turned the lights back on and then led me back into the room. He asked me if I wished to stay on. I am pleased to announce that I have been asked to continue in the role of White House Press Secretary.

Writing is what I do best and it brings me great joy to be able to serve our citizens again to relay important information from the eWhite House to your desktops. I pledge to give you accurate, reliable facts you can trust that is the official verifiable information coming directly from your government. I am pleased to accept the role of White House Press Secretary and look forward to sharing more great moments of both our triumphs and our tribulations around the world. I look forward to continuing to share this journey through eRepublik with our nation and the rest of those around the world who choose to read The Briefing Room.

Results of Presidential Election

In a closely contested presidential election, the leader for most of the day was Harrison Richardson who has become our new President of eUSA. Although he led for most of the day, he was closely trailed by Emerick, who was only down by 242 votes at the end of Election Day. While we wish Emerick well in the continued contribution of his talents to our country, let’s congratulate Harry on becoming our new president and wish him success in his new role as head of state to bring eUSA success as we move forward as a strong nation that is more aware of our interdependence as well as our position of leadership in the world.

Kansas

Yes, your White House Press Secretary thought it was a joke at first, too, but it’s true! Smack in the middle of our country, stocked with a high-grain region capable of feeding the eWorld, scrabman has given eUSA one last thing before leaving office, which has been unanimously approved by congress. For those of you in the western reaches of the country who think New Jersey or Florida is too far to travel, it’s true: Kansas now has a Q5 hospital!

With a Q5 hospital as far from our borders as possible, this move has assured that, even if the worst possible scenario that both the Florida and New Jersey hospitals are destroyed by simultaneous attack would occur, we are guaranteed to always have a Q5 hospital to fight from, no matter what comes our way. You can’t get any more heartland than Kansas, folks! Here’s to the security of eUSA!

War Games

Yes, folks! We may have a new president, but we still have war games! As a matter of fact, the games are going on right now and will continue until 12:00 tomorrow (Day 595). Make sure you use our Q5 hospitals in Florida or New Jersey or our brand new Q5 hospital in Kansas to get the most wellness, rank and maximum productivity for our nation.

If you want to know how to get the most during wars, war games and peacetime alike and boost yourself to near 100% wellness in less than 2 days, then read Which Button Do I Press First?. All of your employers will love you for it (pay raise anyone?) and you will gain rank faster if you do.
