Connors is Ecstatic At Being Elected to Congress

Oh how I love the eUSA! Only in eAmerica can you go from where I was on the day I wrote my first article in Jude's Journal to today, writing to you now as a eUS Congressman! For that, I want to say, THANK YOU!

Let me start off by congratulating all 150-plus eAmericans who ran for Congress. All of you are winners, and the admin gods initially agreed. Unfortunately, it was only a limited-time victory and the admin gods reversed that insane decision, so now we are back at our correct count. Other issues were finally solved and the correct winners of the Congressional races are now at the Capitol. Now it's time to get to work.

Speaking of work... WOW! There is so much work for a Freshman Congressman to do! Since I Am new to the Capitol, I've been trying to soak up the knowledge. Forum after forum, meeting after meeting. I also had to sign-up for committee assignments. Now, I'm waiting to see who will be the new Speaker of the House. I am sure we will be assigned to our respective committees afterwards.

When it comes to committees, I am really hoping to get on the Infrastructure committee. I feel the future construction of high quality hospitals and defense systems to be of the utmost importance to the future of the eUSA. If nothing else, I think these past three months of war with PEACE GC should have taught us this lesson.

And I have quickly found that in Congress... all that glitters is not gold. I am sure that it is ALWAYS this way, but some feel as though the Freshmen haven't an ounce of sense. This makes me glad that I have already made some friends in the Capitol. Fellow freshman Congressman Rheinlander von Phalz, for example, has become a trusted colleague. We met while campaigning in the desert southwest of the eUSA. He was elected in Arizone... I was elected in New Mexico... and we had a huge celebration party at the border. Rheinlander is also the writer of his own paper, but needs help finding a new name fo rit. See if you can help him out!

So far in Congress, the usual votes are being made - donation of money to the CBO and issuing money, for example. We just voted on the Speaker of the House and the winner should be announced soon.Due to an election glitch, we had some set backs, but the 22nd Congress of the eUnited States is back on track.

I will do my best to keep everyone up-to-date with the happenings of their Congress. If you ever need to reach me, feel free to drop in at anytime at my office.

One last thing before I go (and I will try to be brief)...

I want to thank everyone who worked so hard to get me elected. First of all, I want to thank my campaign manager, Civil Anarchy. This man went above and beyond; keeping me on track, answering my dumb questions, filling my brain with the knowledge that only Civ has, and moving me from place to place to place to place. Civ, you have set the standard on what a campaign manager should be and I want you to know that I appreciate EVERYTHING you have done to ensure my election to Congress. I thank you, Comrade.

Next I want to thank the America's Advancement Party for sponsoring me. Despite the issues I faced (my first declared region DC was captured by the French), AAP and especially it's party president, Mercurius100, was there. Thanks.

I also want to thank the many, many, wonderful supporters that I had in the Socialist Freedom Party. You guys have been such a great help to me, not only in getting me elected to Congress, but my eLife in general. Thank you SFP! You guys are great!

Most of all, I want to thank fivescott. We became friends just a few weeks ago, but she did some campaigning for me and was there to lend an ear when I needed someone to just listen. Not only that, her vote... along with the two she secured for me on election day, put me ahead of my competitor, basically winning me the election. Thanks fivescott... I only hope to repay the favor someday.

And to everyone else - Thank You!!! I will do my best to not let you down!
