Help Me Rename this Newspaper

Day 678, 22:31 Published in USA USA by Rheinlander von Phalz
28 September 2009, Day 678 of the New World.

When I was considering starting this publication, I wanted to name it the “Sword of Truth.” I would cut through corruption and propaganda to reveal the facts to the media-hungry eUS public. I then discovered that the name was already taken by a series of fantasy novels and that writing propaganda for the eUS was fun, especially when it is thoughtful. In fact, I believe I might have taken it to an extreme. I still liked the chivalric theme, and eventually decided on the “Paladin’s Honor” because my articles would out there as an extension of my integrity. Having daily access to smite evil would also greatly increase the damage I could deal to PEACE GC forces.

As time went on, I diversified this publication a little. I used it to launch my Congressional platform, of course, and explored a little bit more I could do with it – political analysis, tactical analysis, interviews, and several instances of war coverage and short ‘snippet’ articles.

With the full realization that I will continue this eclectic tread, I want to move away from the objective-sounding title “Paladin’s Honor.” I will write and publish opinion pieces, and some degree of bias may be unwittingly introduced (or very knowingly, as in the case of anti-PEACE GC propaganda). Some outside spectators have suggested that my analysis of the 22nd Congressional Election did not give sufficient exposure to the United Independents Party. I apologize that it was perceived that way, as I intended the article to be as unbiased as I could. Recall that I was a candidate in the election I was analyzing, and was against a big five party that won no states on its ticket. Furthermore, I want to step away from the chivalric theme.

I hereby announce my intentions to change the name of this publication.

I have not decided on the new name, but I have come up with and heard some proposals. Comments suggesting what the new name should be are appreciated. As I am the congressional representative from Arizona, many ideas will relate to the state.

List of Suggestions

- The Roadrunner
(not related to the cartoon character)
- The Flagstaff Post
- The Flagstaff Standard
(Flagstaff is a city in Arizona. ‘Post’ can mean the journalistic meaning or the post from which a flag is hoisted – the flagstaff. ‘Standard’ can refer to a banner or flag in addition to it appearing as the name of several newspapers.)
- The Arizona Star
(The flag of Arizona featured a single, copper-colored star.)
- The Grand Canyon
- The Painted Desert
(These are geographic features of Arizona. I am leaning towards “Painted Desert” and away from “Grand Canyon” because of the symbolic meaning they would have as a newspaper’s name.)
- The Phoenix
(The capital city of Arizona is Phoenix. To be more appropriate, though, I should have had the paper running for some time, then left it idle, and then revived it to change its name to “Phoenix.”)
