A Deconstruction of The Holy Admin

Day 1,084, 19:21 Published in USA USA by tdwester

Disclaimer:
I am writing this article in the same spirit as the admin have treated the recent migration of military skills and the value of daily training.[/i]

So I'm sure that everyone received the following message today:
Strength Calculation
Dear citizen,

We have received a lot of feedback concerning the strength migration so we want to share a detail that we haven't presented in the first place: the daily training should have given less points than 5 but in the last minute we have changed to a more rewarding one, 5 points. We are sorry for this inconsistency.

Let us know your opinion about this, by voting in a poll:

Regards,

Your eRepublik Team

There are a few important aspects of this message. Many people are saying "HAIL DIO! The admin are admitting their humans!" This is patently false. If you read the message closely, they are not addressing the migration of military skill they're just saying that all of us should be receiving less than we currently are as we train daily. So not only are the majority of us who spent gold on Lana wronged, but they wanted to do us even further damage in not giving people any immediate advantage to daily training.

Next you should note that only AFTER they decided did they ask for our opinion. Let me remind you how much our opinion is worth lately. Nanotik and I were both temporarily banned (and given gratuitous amounts of forfeit points) for objecting to the changes the admin made to military skills in the media module (and we're only two examples). Why did they give us such severe punishments for expressing our opinions? We're not supposed to publicly humiliate them for their bad decisions. Articles are open to everyone, not just players, so if someone considering playing the game, or even investing in it, was looking around and saw this huge display of anger, they might not play or invest. Then, people who satirize the events including Nanotik and I (and the migration in general) are given forfeit points and have their articles deleted.

Clearly our displeasure registered with the admin. They have so blatantly listened to us.

[The Real Kick In The Head]
First, I should probably point out that this article will be deleted and I will probably be given more forfeit points for inciting discussion that criticizes the admin.

Now please go look at that poll they so kindly linked to in their private message to each and every one of us. They barely touch upon the migration issue but ask us for our opinion. Their question is: "Do you want more strength when you train or less?" I'm no fool. Neither are you. Everyone wants more strength but they're clearly using the poll as a way to justify in the future not having fixed the migration of military skills. Now I've lost you, yes? Well look at it like this - if we affirm their decision of giving us 5 strength points, in their silly minds we're affirming the migration DESPITE all the replies to the post which ask for a recount of the migration.

One brave soul, who is probably now temporarily (or permanently) banned for inciting anti-admin discussion made the point that all the time he spent playing eRepublik is equal to about 40 days in the admin's new military world. He asked how this was fair and what was the admin's response? Here it is, verbatim:
Dear Cipiotul,
Your investment is present in the number of Super Soldier Medals, the total strength that you have, the damage that you make. And nobody can reach you unless you will not train anymore, isn't this so?

Regards,
Your eRepublik Team

My first issue is this:
The admin clearly do not understand that time actually is money. I know they received 2 million euros a year or so ago to develop the game but for those of us who invest time and our own money, the migration was completely unfair.

My second issue is this:
The admin keep signing things Your eRepublik Team when it is becoming increasingly more obvious that no one is really happy with the way they're doing anything. Why are they trying to program our brains into thinking we chose them? We didn't. Just call yourselves The eRepublik Team.

Finally:
The admin have demonstrated (as I have chronicled) their lack of respect for our opinion. There are many ways we can demonstrate our lack of respect for theirs but a couple of them seem childish and a couple more are illegal in Europe (unfortunately). The best way to show them how displeased we are with them is to never spend anymore real life money on this game. The next way is to tell them that they are not "our" team, they are just "the" team.

We unforunately have to accept that the migration will not be fixed until the next "upgrade". Until it is "fixed" (rea😛 "upgraded") we just shouldn't bother buying anything from them. They have investors they're more interested in showing results to. The only way they can show them results is in either selling the game or in making money from it. Unless I've missed something, with people not buying services from you, you don't make money and you still incur costs. No one wants to see eRepublik shut down by anyone but we all want to see it get better. Maybe right now the only way to help them find the path to a better game is through threatening their livelyhood by not paying them for their "services".
