[FG4CP] Why am I terrible at clickbait?

Day 3,327, 18:26 Published in USA USA by fingerguns

Started as a Dictator, ending as a President. The mechanics change, but, like, I’m still in charge. *flex* The only part of this that really bums me out is that I'm struggling to come up with a campaign slogan as hilariously slooty as 'fg wants the D.' If you have good ideas (that won't violate eRep rules) post them in the comments.

Hey, if I end up using it, I'll give you money. How about that?

CG, this is me pretending to be sad about an eRep medal. Just for you.

I ran for Dictator last term with the totally awesome, super fun objective of working on domestic programs and laying groundwork for us to be more competitive in the air and more organized as a fighting force!!!!!! We made really good progress across the board, despite the decreased activity. December is always a really slow month, what with holidays and such, so it seemed like a good time to do some heads-down maintenance. I also enjoy that kind of thing because I’m a dork.

It was a good month. No regerts. There were some surprises and some curveballs, but I had a good time and I was glad to work with an awesome team that hit all of the objectives I laid out and was quick on their feet tackling the unexpected issues.

I would like to build on what we’ve done this month and go even harder domestically in the next term. While we don’t have a huge influx of new players, that’s no excuse to neglect the ones we do have. I think we’ve been beating this drum of ‘the game is dying’ for so long that we’ve let things slip. In my personal opinion, this game is about community building, even when the community is smaller, and there’s really no way to do that without being focused on education and opportunities to help people plug in.

These ideas are not new ideas… they are tried and true. I am just offering to commit myself to implementing them. I hope, if nothing else, you believe me to be someone who does stuff when she says she's gonna do stuff.

This term we knocked out an update of the Welcome Center that was long overdue. The links are accurate (ooooo) and we’ve added a brief intro to different aspects of the game to get people moving a little faster and hopefully reduce the intimidation factor (aaaah). Evry also put together the much-anticipated ECONOMICS GUIDE (fireworks, confetti) because the economics in this game are super weird and can leave new players feeling defeated before they even begin.

If elected for another term, I’d like to rewrite/update more of our guides to be both comprehensive and easy to pick up on. This recent disruption to the Dictatorship and rapid change in the mechanics of this country exposed some weaknesses we have in our community with understanding the how’s and why’s of our daily operations. It’s not okay to just sit by and laugh at the plebs for not ‘getting it.’ We have a responsibility to educate, without judgement, so they can be constructive participants in the conversation and helpful members of the community that we are all a part of.

The work we did to start organizing strikes and increase our power in the air went even better than expected for such a slow month. I am very excited to see what we can do now that everyone is back and settled in. Air battles aren’t the only area where we could improve and I think we will get a chance to test our mettle yet again in the next month. There are some foreign affairs opportunities brewing on the horizon and I expect some new targets will reveal themselves. After the d*cking we gave the eUK, I’m not surprised. My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard.

I’ll elaborate on these, and other points, as the campaign goes on. I learned a lot this month and I think it will make me an even stronger leader for the eUS.

VOTE FG FOR PRESIDENT!

I said I was a “media President”, and this is what I meant. Even in a slow month, we churned ‘em out, bby. I do my best to keep the general public in the loop, but I have been told that I could do even more. Next term, if elected, I’ll go even harder.
