I have decided to bring back the weekly citizen memo from scipio the greats term as MoHA, however this time I will not be publishing the same article over and over again, because although it is a good idea I dont think it is good that the top 5 is always filled with the same article.Instead,
be sure to look out every saturday for new players guides, information on the goings
on of the eUK, and more! Also later today I have decided to resurrect the NNA, or National
Newspaper Association, which basically rounds up all the good articles from the week. Be
sure to look out for that later today.

A beginners guide - MPP's.

An MPP stands for Mutual Protection Pact, and in game is known as an alliance, but
to avoid confusion with the alliances Mr. Woldy is going to talk about later, I am going to
use the term MPP. An MPP is an agreement between two country's that is kept to by erepublik
game mechanics that if one country in the pact is attacked, the other country automatically
becomes an ally in the war. What this means is that the ally can fight for the country that
is being attacked from their homeland. The MPP works both ways - if you are attacked the
other country will become an ally too. MPP's only work if original regions of the country
are attacked - that is why in operation french toast, when the eUK used to hold Belgium
(more on this later), and France attacked Belgium, MPP's were not activated, but France
could use the full force of all its ally's gained through MPP's to attack because we had
already attacked France's original regions.

An MPP cost 30 gold from both country's treasury, and must be proposed by one of the country's presidents. MPP's last for exactly one month. However MPP's can be canceled in other ways, for instance if A and B both have an MPP with C, and A decides to attack C, then the MPP between A and C is canceled, as is the MPP between B and C.

Also, once triggered, an MPP is by default active until the end of war. Peace proposals
will cancel wars started by MPP's, but these wars will be started again if the MPP is re
triggered. For example A has an MPP with B. C attacks an original region of A, and B will
become an ally of A in the war against B. If B and C sign a peace, B will no longer be an
ally of A in that war. However if C attacks an original region of A, B will again become
and ally of A.

The eUK currently holds MPP's with the following country's:
*Canada Expires in 27 days
*Croatia Expires in 5 days
*USA Expires in one month
*Greece Expires in 3 days
*Germany Expires in 4 days
*Italy Expires in 7 days
*Latvia Expires in 25 days

A Brief History of ATLANTIS and PEACE.


Many of you will read articles that frequently mention both PEACE and ATLANTIS. They are 2
super-alliances that emerged in e-Republik. The UK was a member nation of ATLANTIS, which
has since collapsed. This article will explore the history of these super alliances, and
assess possible reasons as to the collapse of ATLANTIS. Each alliance has a charter, this
is effectively a rule book that member nations must follow, and have to sign upon entering
the alliance.


PEACE


People of Earth Associated under Common Excellence. Or,
the PEACE Global Community. In August, 2008 the initial member nations signed the PEACE
charter. Those countries consisted of nations that were part of old, smaller alliances,
called FIST, AHA, and the MA. (Formidable International Security Treaty, American-Hispanic
Alliance, and the Mediterranean Alliance.) By April 2009, PEACE had grown into e-Republiks
largest alliance; it currently has 18 members:

5. The Netherlands
6. Portugal
7. Bulgaria
8. Brazil
9. Pakistan
10. Austria
11. Iran
12. Japan
13. Slovenia
14. Chile
15. Argentina

European Countries in this list could pose a possible threat to the UK. However, the larger
influences such as Hungary and Italy are on good terms with us, and we currently have MPP’s
with them.


ATLANTIS


The Atlantic Treaty of Latin, American, and Nordic T
erritories for International Security, was similarly created out of a
group of smaller alliances. Again, in August 2008, (5 days before PEACE, however) the
treaty was signed, by countries from the NA, PANAM, and two MA members. (Northern Alliance,
and the Pan-American alliance. At its peak, ATLANTIS has 14 members;

2. The UK
3. Romania
4. Canada
5. Croatia
6. Finland
7. Norway
8. Poland
9. Spain
10. Sweden
11. Germany
12. Israel
13. Greece
14. Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The last 4 were passive members, meaning they had a limited say in decisions made by
ATLANTIS, but didn’t have to commit militarily and financially as much as active members.
The UK is still maintaining good relations with countries like the USA, and Canada. We are
also keeping on the good side of other former allies such as Poland and Sweden.


Warfare


6 days after ATLANTIS was formed, (The day after PEACE was) the alliances were thrust into
war with each other, after Romania declared war on Hungary. The following war is what
became known as a world war. Many countries were involved, ATLANTIS supporting Romania, and
PEACE supporting Hungary. Countries like the UK, and Sweden sent their armed forces to
assist Romania, and were overall quite successful. Such was the magnitude of the battles,
that there was often server lag, causing strange happening during the battles. Eventually,
the Admins had to stop the fighting as various bugs and errors had been flagged up during
the conflict. Following the war 7 nations joined ATLANTIS.

French Toast and The loss of Belgium

"Operation French Toast" was the code name for an ATLANTIS led invasion of France. It began
when Spain declared war on France in December, 2008. Soon after, The UK, USA, Canada, and
Sweden declared war on France. Many gains were made in the first few days of the operation,
with the eUK gaining Lower Normandy (a high iron region) and the swedes and the Spanish
gaining territory in other parts of France. However once other country's began to fight on
France's side further attempted gains failed,and in the end the combined forces of PEACE
kicked ATLANTIS out of france.The original intention of Operation French Toast was to
liberate occupied Swiss regions. With Indonesia fighting in South Africa the ATLANTIS
timing seemed ideal. However other PEACE countries helped France, and the operation was
unsuccessful. After PEACE had won the battle for France, France promised to not invade
Belgium, which at the time was a eUK owned territory after the two country's merged back in
the days of erepublik beta. However they invaded and won all of Belgium's territory's apart
from the capital, Brussels, which France promptly gave back to the original country of
Belgium via a resistance war, and we gave back the capital as it was of no economic or
military gain some time later. Belgium is now a part of a union with the United
Netherlands, a PEACE country.

The end, of ATLANTIS


Sweden and Germany have been in a total of 3 wars with each other. The third war is began a
rift in ATLANTIS, however arguably is not entirely responsible for the collapse of
ATLANTIS, as its main military nation Romania had lost many regions to PEACE aggressors,
and strain was beginning to show everywhere. ATLANTIS officials had still not voted on
wether or not Germany was to remain in the alliance, Sweden had felt that there trial
membership had expired, so launched a joint invasion with Poland, into German territories.
This caused a rift in ATLANTIS, after Sweden had declared that it would prefer member
nations to remain neutral. This caused tensions on a national basis, as well as an
international one. 3 days after the war started, ATLANTIS’s supreme commander, Hassan
Peasearn declared the alliance dissolved. Sweden and Poland went on to take over all of
Germany’s regions.

Earlier in the week Germany had lost all its regions to Sweden and Poland,however PEACE has
begun liberation German regions again.Make sure you check here

and there alone.
