Join the new world

Last month I wrote an article supporting John Largo for president of the eUS. We lost a very close and exciting election, but it was a lot of fun and a good time was had by all. John is running again this month and I know he is the “Guy for July”. He has some great ideas for moving this country forward and has come up with a pretty clever acronym for his campaign this month. DUTI

Diversity means that no matter who you are, you are important.



Unity means that no matter what our differences are, we all are unified with the same ultimate goals.



Transparency means that no matter how we decide the issues, John Largo will tell you what and why.



Inclusiveness means that everybody who wants to be involved and who can contribute is welcome and encouraged.



Most of that last part was plagiarized (with permission so it isn’t really plagiarism is it?) directly from Zheng He’s article which is also worth a read if you haven’t had a chance to look that one over.

The idea here is to bring this country together. We have so many eCitizens capable of great things yet so many are overlooked. Whether it is the newer folks that don’t feel like they have a voice, or the established players that can’t quite relate to those who haven’t been around very long, John Largo wants to get everyone involved in moving this diverse country forward. He has selected another fantastic team this time around and I look forward to being a small part of it. There is a fantastic mix of experience, new ideas and commitment to a better way of doing things.

Here is an interview John did with Jude Conners reprinted here with permission.

1. What do you feel is the biggest hurdle that eUSA has to overcome right now?
Getting all on the same page. We are a strong nation, but we have not shown that for a long time. We can still do it if we put aside past differences and start looking together toward the future.

2. Is there a program or initiative you wish to start/restart while Country President?
My campaign promise of open PDBs is still on the table. We'll tweak it to make it work around forum constraints, but it will happen. The people will see what is going on behind the curtain of their government.

3. Do you have any ideas for a baby boom?
Not really. It would be nice, but we need to make a good nest for our newbies. The Interior and Education departments have improved this year to the point that I would say they are ready. Now we just need to heal the fractures in our society, so we stop calling other eAmericans enemies to the point that newbies don't know who to trust, and they wind up in the arms of Ajay. That is not as far away as you might think either. Then we would be ready for the baby boom.

4. How do you feel about the new alliance and do you have any plans to try to get other allies into it to make it grow?
It has to grow, or it has to end. A 2 nation alliance is not an alliance. It is a partnership. I value Russia as a long term partner and bro....but we are going to need a lot more than 1 country if we ever need the help of an alliance.

5. What is the biggest shortcoming of the current President and what would you do differently?
Well, off the top of my head, the poor planning of the Cuba NE is a black eye in my book. There was no need for it to be rushed, as we have had plenty of prep time for this tourney. I know that is the domain of one of her cabinet members, but the boss takes the blame for the employee's performance.
