Eden or CoT: The 3rd Option
Artaxerxes Pavonis
EDEN
CoT
With recent discussion of which Alliance Ireland should join, whether it be Circle of Trust with their Constitution of Queality, or if we stay with our current Alliance membership in Eden.
While most think it can be only one or the other, a 3rd option is also available: Neutrality.
Long ago, Ireland was known for being one of a few Neutral nations, even though it was in the mist of Atlantis territory. As such, we still had a pro-Atlantis outlook, but were unofficial in any membership. Ireland still supported MPP's with neighboring nations and our closest friends.
With our current situation, we are at a win-loose situation with either alliance, If the vote concedes to stay in Eden, we will have the continual experience with the Eden Commanders and other Advisors as we have been dealing with in recent months. In Circle of Trust, we gain equality amongst our fellow members, but loose the confidence of our largest neighbor USA. CoT member nations include: Bulgaria (warring with Greece), Belgium (recent conflicts with UK), Chile (warring with Argentina and occupying Australia), and Mexico (which have had conflicts with USA, and was occupied by our closest ally Croatia). Either Alliance, we are still fighting. But for CoT, Irish Soldiers will be on the other side from where we are now.
Now looking at another angle is our Neutrality. If we are Neutral, we will then be able to pick and choose our MPP's with whom we wish to help, or be helped. Thus, reducing the amount of Gold we spend from our recently robbed and slowly recovering treasury. Our economy had flourished under our neutral policies, and it can still do the same.

Great article. We should consider the implications of being turned against some of our former allies of course. If it isn't to our strategic advantage to be in CoT, than that's a problem.
Neutrality does seem like a good option now since we're basically in a reliable peace. But what about in the future? Will the eUK want to capitalize on it once we're all on our own? Will it be too boring without alliance wars to fight in?

CoT isn't a European alliances which means it won't be as focused on European affairs as EDEN would.
CoT is also made up of a lot more weaker and smaller nations. Nothing against those nations but it isn't smart to be made up of weaker nations from all around the world as you are subjecting yourself to the different superpowers from each continent.
EDEN also deals 3.5 times more damage than CoT.
Ofc we would maintain a few MPP's, for our economy and our defense.
Depends whether "neutral" means won't fight at all, or won't be anyone's b*tch.
The former sucked hard, despite nostalgic false memory, the second has yet to surface in eIreland.
The one central argument that people are not picking up is that we bored out of our brains here having no direct war. Neutrality will ensure that. If you want to stay safe and get involved in the occasional war then be my guest, it's one of the reasons why I'm leaving.
At the moment, thanks to our MoFA team, many EDEN members are contributing or paying entirely for the cost of our MPP's. You won't get that if you're neutral.
Neutrality as I rember it was arguing over constitutional amendments and blaming PP for everything bad that happened in the world.
Well if we leave EDEN we're going to be neutral first and then we'll consider new alliances anyway.
Good article 🙂
