Winning the game

There was a girl, let's call her Charlize. Charlize is not her real name. Her real name is Julia, but to keep her private info private, let's call Julia Thompson from Roanoke, Vrigina Charlize.
Charlize was an ambitious young girl, sporty figure, blonde pony tailed hair, just graduated from university, just starting her first job as an accountant. She liked her job very much, but what she liked more was spending time with Terrence.

Charlize and Terrence had known each other since school and had been a couple for seven years now. She fell in love with him while he was tutoring her in math. He was so patient and eager to help. He always wanted to help.
Lately though, things had become difficult. Terrence had become moody and spent a lot of time in front of his laptop. Charlize assumed he would be working for his thesis, but yesterday she caught him for the second time playing a stupid browser game. They used to talk about everything, but he never talked about this game.

"So what is it about?" Charlize asked. Terrence didn't even look up. "Ah, it's stupid", was all he mumbled. Charlize was not satisfied. "What do you mean stupid? Why do you play it then?" "Ah, I don't know," Terrence grinned, "it's hard to stop." As if to prove his point, he kept staring at the display, manically clicking the mouse button.

Charlize loved to look back at all the years she and Terrence had spent together. While a lot of friends who had become couples had seperated again, had gone dating, clubbing, finding new lovers and seperating again, she and Terrence had always been together, one entity, an undividable unit. She loved to remember all the fun activities they did over the last seven years, from dance courses as teenagers, vacations spent together, going to the cinema, they both liked playing tennis, or just strolling around old town to the river talking about their everyday live.

For some strange reason, in this moment she saw it all slip away. Like a dark cloud entering her soul a terrible feeling overcame her while she watched Terrence angrily stare at that display. Suddenly she started freezing. Charlize sensed she had to make a decision.

"No, Terrence." She said calmly. "It's real easy. Look!" She grabbed Terrence's laptop and closed it, putting it behind her on the desk.

The guy failed to react in time. Now he was grasping for air.
"What, wait! I was just... Charlize!!?" Terrence face ran red in fury. So red she had never seen him turn before. Charlize's heart was pumping loud and fast. Terrence jumped up from the sofa to face her. "I was... I was just deploying...!" Terrence kept shouting, staring at her in disbelief. "That guy stole from me and I was just..." Charlize took all her courage and all her love for Terrence, and kept staring back. "I... I was just..." he kept mumbling, "I was..."

Suddenly Terrence started laughing. Charlize didn't know what was going on, her heart was still beating like crazy. Then Terrence grabbed her by the waiste and gave her a long, gentle kiss.
"Thank you", he whispered. "I don't even know what I was doing there." They kissed again.
"Now let's go out and grab some food, shall we?"

They didn't go out for food that day. Nine month later Charlize gave berth to a cute baby boy that would change their lives forever. Charlize suggested to give him a creative name, something historic and greek, like Plato, but when Terrence's face started to turn red again she quickly dropped the idea. They settled for Eugene instead.
