Salty isn't dead, and won't be anytime soon. Saltydog is a member of what I think of as the Lazarus Generation. There are a group of players, mostly older players who don't really bother to work, or fight, their passion is the media. As there is no penalty associated with allowing your character to die in-game, not bothering to work, or buy food eventually leads to death. At which point of course, you can simply press a button, be revived with no loss to you, and you suddenly have 50 wellness with which to start the dying process all over again.
