[UPDATE, This just in: It appears Plato has changed his mind about the price gouging. The pricing of gold to purchase in real life has been reduced to the old price. Let's see if we get some candy bars for this!

Do you ever buy gold? I mean with real life money. You know, so you can get that upgrade for your business or to go for the BH medal. Boy do the Admins have a special deal for you!

For a limited time you can upgrade your business for 50% off! That's right, out of the goodness of their hearts, the proprietors of this game want to give you something for nothing. Or do they? Let's have a look.

In the USA we have laws that prevent a merchant from advertising one price and then charging a higher price for the product. It is called fraud. Perhaps Romanian laws are different?

[UPDATE: I'm not sure whether or not this article had anything to do with the problem being 'fixed'. If it did, I was only too happy to help in some small way. It remains to be seen if a refund to those who purchased gold at the inflated price will happen. For those involved, I hope it does.

The odd thing about this whole affair was that this article is still here and I accumulated no FP's.]

Actually Dill, you've given me and several others an idea. Instead of sending letters to the admin that will go unanswered, it might be far more productive to send letters to the Irish version of the BBB regarding poor customer service from eRepublik Labs Limited.

It is an 'evil' Capitalist device that induces one to purchase items that they don't need, with money they don't have, to impress friends who really aren't.

(Note: I believe in 'good' Capitalism. But that involves integrity, honesty and compassion. Those qualities are sorely lacking today.)

@Relorian, If that can get some people a refund, I say go for it.

To give my honest opinion, I have to say that this must have been a goof up. I do not think even the Admins are that stupid. I believe they intend to raise the price of gold and got the timing all wrong. They should have edited to "Buy gold and extras" page and then allowed the billing company to update the price charged.
