{CPF} Onwards to progress!
Dozzer_x
Salutations and greetings!
Another week has passed in the life of our most dear party, and certain proceedings went further. Since my last article, we finally had elections for the Congress, various activities in the newly-formed legislative and we are now preparing for presidential elections.
First of all, I would like to thank everyone who voted for the Canadian Progressive Front on the 25th of March. We are most grateful for giving your confidence to our 7 newly-elected Congressmen, some of them being at their first term, and you should be sure that the CPF Caucus for this month will not disappoint you.
We will endlessly pursue progressive policies within the Canadian Congress, in full respect to the Seven Tenets of our Party.
As you know, the Canadian Progressive Front won 36% of the votes, being situated on the first place and thus gaining the plurality of seats. This amount of votes shows once again that the people trust us and that they trust in us being the premier party of Canada. With these things, it is in our most important duty not to disappoint them, but instead to continue directing Canada on the road to progress.
In the newly-elected Congress, the Canadian Progressive Front managed to get the highest position, that of Speaker of Congress. Congratulations to Funky 24 for his unanimous election as Speaker.
At the same time, our CPF Caucus in the Congress managed to actively take part in the debate and pursue the Seven Tenets of our Party in the ideas being debated in the Congress chamber. We will continue doing so in the next month, and we shall see ourselves at the end of April, helping the next Executive gain a Congress for May as well, by fighting the Spanish oppressors.
The second issue that I will talk about in my article are the presidential elections that are due to take place on the 5th of April. As the Canadian Progressive Front has done each month, once again we will hold the party primaries for the presidential nominee. It is of uttermost importance that the whole party is consulted on issues of such political relevance, and unlike other parties, the Canadian Progressive Front consults all membership of the party rather than a "select council" of an alleged "party elite". In the CPF there is no such few, select elite, but in our party all members are part of the party's elite.
This month, as promised in my campaign, we will see a fairly new system being implemented, the preferential system. How is this supposed to work? Fairly simple, I may say. Each voter ranks the candidates on the ballot in the order they wish. Each voter may rank as many or as few candidates they see fit. This will assure a greater democratic legitimacy for the nominee that I will put on the 2nd of April.
The candidates on the ballot are as follows:
Homer J Simpson
aeriala
Punisher 1389
Yano Chichelin
As you may observe, regardless of their chances or intentions, we have 2 CPF members that have the intention to run for the Country Presidency. I think that's a start, and I'm looking forward to next month to see more candidates wishing to get our party's nomination, especially that the situation with Spain might stabilise.
Nevertheless, I should reiterate, from my campaign for party presidency article, that I reserve my right to have the ultimate decision on the CPF presidential nominee, per game mechanics.. I will only use this power, of course, if there'll be no clear winner of the primary.
The CPF is a party that welcomes all who care about a responsible, accountable and positive government to our halls. There are many opportunities available for newer players, so please, consider joining us!
Seven Tenets of the Canadian Progressive Front:
1. Uphold the equality of all active Military Units
2. Make the accounting of government funding more open and important
3. Ensure Canada is a reliable and selfless ally
4. To respect, recognize and uphold the supremacy of the mechanics of the game
5. Develop a positive political sphere
6. Bring in Canadians to eRepublik
7. To encourage growth and stability to the eCanadian economy

Yano? Really?
Yes, really.

Sigh...was expecting more of the CPF leadership. Very disappointed that a lulz candidate who hasn't posted anything in over a week would be put on the ballot.
Shame on you Dozzer. Bring back Funky as PP.
Any candidate who stated their intention to run should be on the party's ballot, especially if they are a CPF member. Are you denying democracy?
I'm denying that this "candidate" is even a candidate at all.
He expressed his wish to run. In the United States, there was a guy wearing a shoe as hat, whose name is "Vermin Supreme" or something like that. He said he is running for the lulz, and yet the authorities didn't deny his right on the ballot.
Let democracy works it magic then, people should be able to determine whether he's serious or not and decide to nominate or not nominate him, it's by no means a failure on Dozzer's part like you would insinuate
Three months old, level 20, is not in an MU, doesn't have a paper, and has an opinion on everything? Looks suspicious to me - it all reminds me of Little Tony with his lemon.
Aeriala?
Really?
Clearly the CPF no longer has eCanada's best interests in mind.
No one's forcing you to stay in this party
then vote for the other candidates
Atleast I'm willing to put forth a position.
'Twill only be a will, Aeriala, only a will, but no the reality
democracy should have clear options, i'm putting forth an option, no more no less
an option no one wants.
Aeriala?
Are you kidding me?
I'll have my name on that list next month, You'll see ; )
Oh yeah! my pick.. Homer Jay
Of the 2 CPF candidates, ones a Romanian guy who flew in here out of nowhere, and has very little (if any) activity since the 1100's.. The other is a traitor of sorts who closely rivals Rolo in terms of who stole the most from the treasury/destroyed the country...
I should have put my name on the ballot. But I would have voted for President Simpson either way.
hahaha, you really need to do some fact checking, not only did i never steal anything i actually donated over 300gold to the treasury to meet canadas commitments after a Rolo related theft
Not exactly how my memory recalls those events, but sure, let's go with that
A Romanian guy? It was actually eBelgium and he's been here in Canada for a year now, and is a RL friend of mine
Sorry.. looked at the flag somewhat quick 😛
Either way, all i'm saying is that it hardly seems as if he's been active as of late..
Very inactive in fact. http://www.egov4you.info/citizen/history/4177422
wow this game gets more like RL the longer I play
"[eRepublik] can best be described as massivley multiplayer online strategy game meets government simulation game meets social networking site."
Now we are not even suppose to trust our membership to vote and nominate a proper candidate? The elite are suppose to spoon feed who they want. Sounds like an Iranian or Russian democratic election to me. Do you want us to fix the results to? People should really thing about what they are calling for. Trust the membership to make the right call or we stand for nothing.
Unfortunately, some of our members would love to see a CPF like that.
lulz candidates from our party have no right to be our nominee.
Says you. Unfortunately, I nominated you for Congress, against your will, apparently.
Droll.

Democracy is only effective when all members are adequately informed.
As with all top 5, the voting "Block" does not consist of informed players in CPF.
Perhaps the CPF should provide an unbiased summary of each candidate.
Homer J Simpson - Salt of the earth. Will and deserves to win a second term unless he manages to screw up pushing the "Running" button.
Areiala - to easily drawn into conflict with others which is not presidential.
Punisher - Best shouts in the game. Good guy.
Yano - Auk seems to like him. Funny, no substance shown so far.
fairly legit
