{CPF} Onwards to progress!

Day 1,958, 07:16 Published in Canada Canada by Dozzer_x

Salutations and greetings!

Another week has passed in the life of our most dear party, and certain proceedings went further. Since my last article, we finally had elections for the Congress, various activities in the newly-formed legislative and we are now preparing for presidential elections.

First of all, I would like to thank everyone who voted for the Canadian Progressive Front on the 25th of March. We are most grateful for giving your confidence to our 7 newly-elected Congressmen, some of them being at their first term, and you should be sure that the CPF Caucus for this month will not disappoint you.

We will endlessly pursue progressive policies within the Canadian Congress, in full respect to the Seven Tenets of our Party.

As you know, the Canadian Progressive Front won 36% of the votes, being situated on the first place and thus gaining the plurality of seats. This amount of votes shows once again that the people trust us and that they trust in us being the premier party of Canada. With these things, it is in our most important duty not to disappoint them, but instead to continue directing Canada on the road to progress.

In the newly-elected Congress, the Canadian Progressive Front managed to get the highest position, that of Speaker of Congress. Congratulations to Funky 24 for his unanimous election as Speaker.

At the same time, our CPF Caucus in the Congress managed to actively take part in the debate and pursue the Seven Tenets of our Party in the ideas being debated in the Congress chamber. We will continue doing so in the next month, and we shall see ourselves at the end of April, helping the next Executive gain a Congress for May as well, by fighting the Spanish oppressors.

The second issue that I will talk about in my article are the presidential elections that are due to take place on the 5th of April. As the Canadian Progressive Front has done each month, once again we will hold the party primaries for the presidential nominee. It is of uttermost importance that the whole party is consulted on issues of such political relevance, and unlike other parties, the Canadian Progressive Front consults all membership of the party rather than a "select council" of an alleged "party elite". In the CPF there is no such few, select elite, but in our party all members are part of the party's elite.

This month, as promised in my campaign, we will see a fairly new system being implemented, the preferential system. How is this supposed to work? Fairly simple, I may say. Each voter ranks the candidates on the ballot in the order they wish. Each voter may rank as many or as few candidates they see fit. This will assure a greater democratic legitimacy for the nominee that I will put on the 2nd of April.

The candidates on the ballot are as follows:

Homer J Simpson

aeriala

Punisher 1389

Yano Chichelin

As you may observe, regardless of their chances or intentions, we have 2 CPF members that have the intention to run for the Country Presidency. I think that's a start, and I'm looking forward to next month to see more candidates wishing to get our party's nomination, especially that the situation with Spain might stabilise.

Nevertheless, I should reiterate, from my campaign for party presidency article, that I reserve my right to have the ultimate decision on the CPF presidential nominee, per game mechanics.. I will only use this power, of course, if there'll be no clear winner of the primary.

The CPF is a party that welcomes all who care about a responsible, accountable and positive government to our halls. There are many opportunities available for newer players, so please, consider joining us!

Seven Tenets of the Canadian Progressive Front:
1. Uphold the equality of all active Military Units
2. Make the accounting of government funding more open and important
3. Ensure Canada is a reliable and selfless ally
4. To respect, recognize and uphold the supremacy of the mechanics of the game
5. Develop a positive political sphere
6. Bring in Canadians to eRepublik
7. To encourage growth and stability to the eCanadian economy
