Lets start with brass tacks, everything you don't want to hear. I have watched my work destroyed in this game and I can't say I'm happy about it. eCanada is not powerful, it never has been. Getting your ass kicked now is nothing new, it was possible since the game almost started. We weren't weak however, but this was acieved through forieg affairs and good alliances. There is always a beast on our back, the few, very few gold beasts that push that we must conquer. This isn't impossible however we do have a problem, we overall don't have that strength, we get our breaks but it must be done with care.
No matter how hard you get pushed to invade there's always opposition, everyone things there country is the most important and alliance problems always arise. It will never be easy to please everyone but you do your best. Two yeas ago eCanada worked itself into a unique position, we were the only country in the entire eworld to be members of two alliances at the same time, We were literally allies of 35 of 50 countries in the eworld, and yes i did that. I can't say things were perfect the remaining 15 ountries we faced were the strongest in the eworld. We did however manage to turn the tide.
Less than half a year later I got to see my work begin to crumble. Sperry, a guy I actually liked became CP and decided that two alliances was too much work and start breaking things down. Now I can't lie about it, two alliances was alot of work, when I started it they didn't ge along and I had major headaches coming out my ass, but I made it work. Anyone who thinks the job of CP is an easy job needs a major wakeup call, except Muglack who believes going on vacation for his 2 weeks as CP was a great call.
So let's get to the point, eCan sucks and you can't fight, you don't have the population to do it and while our gold beasts are great, they don't cut it. Wake up and realize alliances are how we have to do it. Pull your head out of your ass or don't, I'm done.

A Spartan re-design was the in-thing last Spring. Not just with alliances but with the Constitution/forum, as well. It's been interesting to see how that trend played out in the long run. So you want to go back to being 'bacon in the middle' (ie. a pig straddling two alliances...CoT and Asgard...EDEN and Asgard...CUA and Asgard?)

Actually not at all, I'm saying we managed to do that before even though it was easy. At this time I actually just discovered some new information that could open up new possibilities. At this point however I'm not going to feed the rumour mill, we all know what happened when Rylde tried that.

Aeriala if you paid attention in Sperry's term. both alliances wanted different things for us. EDEN wanted us to stay peaceful and not get involved in any conflict. The opinion in Terra was neutral. We as Canadian people got bored sitting on the sidelines and took action. Our congress reject the monthly EDEN treaty thing which removed us from the alliance. Looking at EDEN now, it was in our best interest. Terra was slowly becoming the best alliance until the Brazilians blamed their PTO on Terra HQ.

I don't know. My strategy took us from two regions to nine in a little under three weeks against an opponent that swore they would keep us wiped for the duration. Then after the next election we were removed from the map in under 10 days.
Greatest CP ever? Probably not. But tied for first with TemujinBC? Absolutely.
Your strategy, I was Terra SC at the time remember, you fired me.
We conducted our own RW's and battles. Terra did almost nothing in the recapturing of our regions.
They did EXACTLY nothing.
The spreadsheets for TERRA objectives were super convoluted and nonsensical. There was 3 different ratings systems based on Order, Position on list, and "Overall Priority" that superceeded, influenced and replaced each other in what seemed to be a completely random basis.
Their IRC channel wasn't much better. Everyone just licked Emerick's @$$ and begged for scraps and nothing really ever happened or got done.

Considering our population that is amazing.
Our gold beasts don't do it all by themselves, the average Canadian has decent strength, and pays attention to whats going on in the international stage.

Alliances are critical, eCan nows it, that is why eCan is building something with Asgard.
eCan is moving away from impulsive foreign diplomacy and into long term relationship building. Takes some visionary leadership to realize that goal.
