[UKGov]MoFA: This was a tiresome week

Day 1,074, 03:20 Published in United Kingdom North Macedonia by Foreign Office
This week alot has been happening around the world and you can be sure that the MoFA's great ambassador team were there to report all the key facts. In this article I will include in depth analysis on the key conflicts of the week and what effects they have on our bipolar eWorld

The Russian Resistance

The Russian conflict has undoubtedly been the most important event of the week.It all began a few weeks ago, when Poland started one of the largest wars in recent history with its attack on Kaliningrad, Russia's capital and one of its most important economic regions on Day 1052. Kaliningrad fell to the marauding, credit card wielding EDEN forces and Poland launched further attacks across European Russia, most of which were sucessful. Russia then defended quite well against the Polish invasion until Romania joined the fray. Russia was reduced to one region, the Urals, about a week ago, which was then taken by EDEN forces. The last week has seen a frantic attempt to return Russia to the map through resistance wars in the Romanian held North Caucasus and USA held Far Eastern Russia(FER) before the congress elections to stop them having open citizenship for the next month putting them under a major PTO threat. Sadly these failed however yesterday they returned to the map through another RW in FER. This front was one of key ones this week as it featured some of the fiercest fighting and also is symbolically important due to Russia's historic status as a major Phoenix power. Russia should definitely be one to watch for next week and it will be interesting to see if Russia can gain momentum from their recent victory.

The Spanish Invasion of Brazil

The Spanish invasion of Brazil was another critical event of the week. The main event of the invasion was undoubtedly the Spanish attack on Phoenix' final high iron region, North of Brazil. The battle experienced major fighting from both sides, however huge amounts of EDEN tanking managed to secure Spain an expensive but nevertheless valuable victory over their South American neighbour, which is currently enjoying a huge babyboom, further bouyed by the desire to reclaim sovereignty over their most important ingame region. The Spanish invasion largely stalled after that and it will be interesting to see the ramifications of the massive Brazilian babyboom on the regaining of North of Brazil and a probable future further Spanish-Brazilian war.

Liberation of Turkey, Slovenia and Portugal

Turkey, Portugal and Slovenia were both wiped at the beginning of the week, aroumd the same time as Russia which made it one of the darkest few days in the history of Phoenix. However this had some benefits, mainly for Turkey who experienced a massive babyboom based on an article in the biggest newspaper in the country about the annexation of Turkey by the biggest rivals Greece, although there are concerns that most of the 10000 or so citizens born in the boom will die out pretty quickly. Owing partly to that, Turkey and Slovenia returned to the map within just over 24 hours of their defeats by Greece and Turkey respectively. Turkey soon regained all of their regions however a number of Slovenian regions remain under Croatian control. Portugal does not look so bright, failing to return to the map before the congressional elections and are now threatened by PTO after being conquered by the USA and Spain. They are trying to return to the map through a series of resistance wars but these have had only one success so far, with Portugal returning to the map in the form of the Azores.

Indonesian and Serbian Skirmishes with the USA in South East Asia

The week has seen many battles across Thailand and Malaysia and to some extent India between two of Phoenix' biggest powers and the USA. Serbia and Indonesia have largely been successful defending their resource rich colonies and staving of a feared US invasion of the Indonesian homeland, something that has never been achieved before, although it remains to be seen whether the US can make a breakthrough in this region through their attack earlier today on Indonesian held Southern Thailand.

Broalliance Invasion of the UK

Day 1072 saw the beginning of a potentially full on invasion with a Canadian attack on Scotland
whilst we along with most of Phoenix were distracted by the heavy Spanish assault on North of Brazil. Canada took the region easily but were blocked from further attacks for 24h due to a RW in Scotland. During this period, Ireland attacked Northern Ireland and Wales, although Wales was mainly a distraction. Broalliance backed Ireland conquered Northern Ireland after a close fought battle however Wales was easily secured by the UK. The UK also started a RW in Irelands only high region, grain rich North Dakota, to drain damage and if victorious remove Ireland's most profitable region however Ireland managed to secure it. Yesterday, after the RW finished Canada attacked the North West of England and when they won that attackked North East of Englandwhich although in a relatively early stage is looking like another Canadian victory. This has raised fears that the UK's sovereignty may be under serious threat and some believe we should brace ourselves for a full scale invasion.

French Attacks on Spain

France began attacking Spain to distract them from North of Brazil, but have since continued the invasion. They started with taking Navarra and then attacked La Rioja. They won both battles fairly easily and then attacked Castilla y Leon bordering Spain's two most important regions, Asturias and Madrid. They have just won the battle in Castilla y Leon and have attacked Asturias and Madrid although as we are in the early stages it is difficult to predict who will win at the moment. If Asturias does fall it will have serious ramifications for Spain and EDEN as a whole as it is one of the most profitable regions in the world.

The Rest
-Poland launches successful attacks on Eastern German regions, possibly to help keep their nationalism induced babyboom alive whilst Sweden also conquers a German region.
-The lengthy conflict in the Balkans continues with battles between Hungary & Serbia and Romania & Croatia.
-Finland launch an invasion of Estonia that whilst in it's early stages looks likely to succeed.
-Macedonia experiences a massive babyboom after erepublik is advertised on national television.
-New Zealand and Belarus are PTOed by Serbians & Slovenians and Poles respectively.
-Ukraine confirms it's affiliation with EDEN by enabling Romanian attacks on Russia.
-Australia regains control of it's congress and the presidency after months under an Indonesian supported PTO, possibly posing a threat to the Indonesian high titanium colony of Western Australia.

That's it for this week, sorry it's a bit long but there were a lot of important events I couldn't leave out
