[TUP][Ad4PP] You know you want to...
Addaway
TUP, it’s fair to say that the last few months haven’t been kind to you guys. To be blunt, the party has faded into inactivity and irrelevance in the eUK, much like it has done for periods in the past. This isn’t good for the UK and it certainly isn’t good for TUP itself.
This more or less is the reason I recently moved back to TUP, and it’s the reason I’m coming out of retirement to run for the PP slot this month.
For those of you in the party who aren’t aware, I was a TUP member in 2015 for about six months, before leaving at the start of 2016 following my second term as CP (Notable for Egypt wandering around our regions for three weeks and the lack of giving the treasury to Wayne at the end of it).
I’m somewhat partial to moving around different groups and parties, and have been in ESO, UKRP and TUP at various points.
With an introduction out of the way, let me say why you should make me PP, and what I’ll do if elected.
no i didnt steal all the pictures from ash brandon’s paper what are you talking about
- Okay so firstly I have simple pledge to write at least three TUP articles over the course of the month, of which two will be the congress list and CP endorsement. This in itself is an increase in the number of articles from the party we’ve seen in ages.
- Re-establish the use of a party PM with all the actives in it as the primary way of communicating in the party.
- The Forums will not be used as a primary means of party communication. Sorry guys, it’s a bad idea. The time for forums has passed and it’s an unnecessary complication for an otherwise simple game.
- Secondly, I will ensure we have at least eight quality congress candidates in the election, and try to agree some form of common platform the candidates can stand on. I will be quite strict on this, and if I don’t think a candidate was up to the task I will ensure they don’t get in the top 8, bringing in blockers if need be (though it shouldn’t be, I’m hopeful we can must eight decent guys from the existing party base.)
- Candidates will be assessed for congress based a good deal on their activity , which is the one commodity the eUK could do with right now. This can mean activity in the party PM, Congress threads, articles, and so on.
- I will ensure that if TUP endorses a CP candidate it’s a quality one. We aren’t going to do the classic TUP thing of running a candidate for some misguided sense of being relevant (and this isn’t necessarily a shot at last months candidate, it’s something TUP has always done.) Hopefully we find a TUP guy/gal who would make a decent CP, but I wouldn’t hesitate to back another parties candidate if they are a much better one.
- Emphasis on myself deciding there, I take the view that with CP nominations it’s the PPs final decision as to who gets put up. I value the input of party members and more often than not I agree with them, but I won’t press the button on a candidate I didn’t think was right or the best one on offer. That’s the way I ran my previous TUP PP terms and I think it works well.
- My hope is that by being able to implement this we can make TUP a decidedly useful political party to the eUK, and inject a bit of energy into things. I understand that some in the party might not agree with a lot of this, and that’s fine. The option is there if you want it, I hope that you will.

Last time you were TUP PP, your ONLY action was to change the party name. There were loud cheers when you left, having got yourself elected to Congress on our slate, and then went running to another party, laughing. You're just a spoiler, reminds me of my niece when she was 2 or 3.
You can hear cheers over the internet? Are you magic?
What on earth are you talking about, I was in TUP for at least six months, was PP twice and was a TUP CP!
Obviously the best choice for TUP PP.
The problems I have with your candidacy:
1. You have shifted around parties for a while now, and have not proven your loyalty to TUP after what happened the last time you were PP.
2. Many of the things you have suggested we do to put us back into the limelight are things that we have already been doing (i.e. using a party PM, nominating good Congress members, etc.)
3. A lot of what has contributed to the death of communications is the lack of new members. No ideas for recruitment, no ideas for revival.
You're not a serious candidate and I don't understand what the purpose of trying to re-enact what you did a while ago would be useful for, aside from you helping out other parties grief TUP.
"after what happened the last time you were PP." Nothing 'happened' when I was last PP, save for a humorous name change for literally 48hrs as I finished being CP. It's pathetic that certain members seems to be getting so hung up over it. I was one of the most active and effective members of TUP for months.
If you've been using a party PM it's one that you seem to have decided to exclude me from, for no good reason other than your own pride. Congress slate is okay, but too many not pulling their weight and there's influence the party could be having which is not being exploited.
What kills TUP is not a lack of members in absolute terms, but active members. The game is dying, there will be no revival in absolute terms, but TUP can easily use what it has much more effectively, in my opinion.
Not sure how I'm helping any other parties out, I'm running because seeing TUP so listless is bad for the UK. We need active parties, not dying husks. You might not like it, but I'm an alternative.
'You're not a serious candidate'
Says the guy who's only ever been dMoD who stood to to be CP last month 🤔🤔
Mr Immanuel Kant, I have previous experience in government. Whether or not you like to ignore the facts, that's your decision.
We shall see how the past treats you Addaway. I wish you the best of luck and shall say no more but what I have already said.
Ash Brandon, bro, you couldn't even beat a guy that had been dead for months...
As for 'loyalty to TUP', that's the kind of head-in-the-sand concept that TUP has always been dogged with. My loyalty, first and foremost, is to the eUK. Moving around parties and interacting with different people is a healthy thing to do.

Well, that is what TUP isn't doing at all, for more than a while. We do not back up or put forward someone just to back up someone.
We sometimes back up others, sometimes no one and sometimes TUP put forward. All only if we think it is a decent CP candidate.
"Hopefully we find a TUP guy/gal who would make a decent CP, but I wouldn’t hesitate to back another parties candidate if they are a much better one."
That is what TUP is doing for more then a while.

A good hope and intention, and now we have two active PP candidates.
