stupidly oversiszed logo but i couldn’t find another one so idc

TUP, it’s fair to say that the last few months haven’t been kind to you guys. To be blunt, the party has faded into inactivity and irrelevance in the eUK, much like it has done for periods in the past. This isn’t good for the UK and it certainly isn’t good for TUP itself.

This more or less is the reason I recently moved back to TUP, and it’s the reason I’m coming out of retirement to run for the PP slot this month.

For those of you in the party who aren’t aware, I was a TUP member in 2015 for about six months, before leaving at the start of 2016 following my second term as CP (Notable for Egypt wandering around our regions for three weeks and the lack of giving the treasury to Wayne at the end of it).

I’m somewhat partial to moving around different groups and parties, and have been in ESO, UKRP and TUP at various points.

With an introduction out of the way, let me say why you should make me PP, and what I’ll do if elected.

no i didnt steal all the pictures from ash brandon’s paper what are you talking about

- Okay so firstly I have simple pledge to write at least three TUP articles over the course of the month, of which two will be the congress list and CP endorsement. This in itself is an increase in the number of articles from the party we’ve seen in ages.

- Re-establish the use of a party PM with all the actives in it as the primary way of communicating in the party.

- The Forums will not be used as a primary means of party communication. Sorry guys, it’s a bad idea. The time for forums has passed and it’s an unnecessary complication for an otherwise simple game.

- Secondly, I will ensure we have at least eight quality congress candidates in the election, and try to agree some form of common platform the candidates can stand on. I will be quite strict on this, and if I don’t think a candidate was up to the task I will ensure they don’t get in the top 8, bringing in blockers if need be (though it shouldn’t be, I’m hopeful we can must eight decent guys from the existing party base.)

- Candidates will be assessed for congress based a good deal on their activity , which is the one commodity the eUK could do with right now. This can mean activity in the party PM, Congress threads, articles, and so on.

- I will ensure that if TUP endorses a CP candidate it’s a quality one. We aren’t going to do the classic TUP thing of running a candidate for some misguided sense of being relevant (and this isn’t necessarily a shot at last months candidate, it’s something TUP has always done.) Hopefully we find a TUP guy/gal who would make a decent CP, but I wouldn’t hesitate to back another parties candidate if they are a much better one.

- Emphasis on myself deciding there, I take the view that with CP nominations it’s the PPs final decision as to who gets put up. I value the input of party members and more often than not I agree with them, but I won’t press the button on a candidate I didn’t think was right or the best one on offer. That’s the way I ran my previous TUP PP terms and I think it works well.

- My hope is that by being able to implement this we can make TUP a decidedly useful political party to the eUK, and inject a bit of energy into things. I understand that some in the party might not agree with a lot of this, and that’s fine. The option is there if you want it, I hope that you will.
