While I was never a fan of this whole revolution and counter revolution thing, I let it go at first.
I thought it would let those who were involved have some fun with this game, and maybe attract some two-clickers and newbs who would've otherwise left this game.
But now I see that members of the revolution and counter-revolution are trying to PTO (Politically Take Over) each other's major political parties (the 15th is Party President election day).
Stop it. Please.
These are the only reasons why PTOing a Top 5 domestic party is acceptable:
1) The party is inactive and doesn't deserve to be in the Top 5
2) The party is actively working against American interests.
That's it. Neither of these apply in this month's election, and unless you can show me otherwise, I think this revolution roleplaying has gone too far.
Yes, we can have a revolution and counter-revolution. Just don't let it get in the way of game mechanics.

Why did this even need to be said?
Just a few short weeks ago it was alright to use the PTo because as a 'game mechanic' it was within the rules. Now all of a sudden it is wrong. Just where were these 'morals' back then. Good luck tomorrow and remember you reap what you sow.

Roleplaying as in having a storyline is acceptable.
Roleplaying as in doing counterproductive actions that have real consequences in the game is stupid, short sighted and immature. I helped give the 'Revolution' a counter voice in the first days but PTOing the political parties involved in a joke is stupid.
Ligtreb is absolutely right when he says this is taking things a step too far.

CHS, there's a big difference between PTOing enemies and PTOing allies.
Yo Lig, we did it to pressure Frost to back out and it worked, he did and so did Claire. All we want is a secure party like anyone else. Sorry for the confusion, but we couldn't exactly gain leverage by saying we were joking. Hope you understand the realities of the situation.
Also, if Frost was planning to pull out anyways, I wish he had made that clear to me. We made a pubic ultimatum directed at him to leave the race earlier in the week, and he chose to ignore it. We made it very clear we would respond if he did not. If anything, he took it too far. We acted in self-preservation.

Technically, nothing that went on tonight was role-play. We did what we did to secure our party. Any other smart party would have done the same thing. Smart party leadership also would have understood that this was a gambit.
The USWP's response (MMing all of the Libs twice with two faked Libertarian orgs telling all members to vote for Josh Frost) showed the intelligence of their leadership. We never intended to PTO or MM. They responded by MMing Libs and trying to PTO us.
I don't think anyone will give the Libs the moral high ground on this whole situation, but whatever, the USWP can claim their moral high ground all they want. Us Libs will keep having fun, and yea, playing according to game mechanics, when mechanics are involved.

I don't know that the stakes/outcomes would have caused any serious disasters, but still, taking the RP a bit too far.
I don't know how many more times I'm going to have to say this short of writing an article: no Lib is trying to PTO anyone. Everything was withdrawn and it was only done to get Frost to withdraw.
Also, Cromstar (USWP member) is running for SEES PP, with the tacit approval of the USWP. Explain that one for me. PDeb of the Feds also tried to jump onto the Lib ballot at the last minute, but thankfully the Federalists are fairly inept at most everything these days, and he missed the cut.
So who are the PTOers? Awaiting anyone's response.

I too agree the Revolutionary theme has run its course; as many members of the community would. The dichotomy has revealed how much polarization exists within our eUnion. Game Mechanics as they continue to evolve are at the very heart of all the expressed issues. Unity, Compromise, and Community must coexist in order for leadership to become stable; which is, the one thing we all need.
Lig's intentions were good in this article... as are all his intentions. I see where he is coming from, but unfortunately it was an unnecessary article that of which he had no clue was unnecessary. He's a good friend and I hope he understands why what was done had to be done.

Once again when the 'elitist' do something it is all a joke or role-playing, when it gets turned back on them it is suddenly not a joke or the role-playing has gone to far. I don't care what they say the attempted PTo of the parties involved where a real attempt to 'take over' and control all parties, he who controls the top 5 controls congress.

Ligtreb has always been such a pathetic hypocrite. He belongs to that class of the elite that thinks that the rules of the game belong to them. He couldn't even spell "national interest" if he tried - much less "class struggle". Real revolutions are about something other than a cult of personality - they have real consequences.
