An apology and follow-up

I rushed to write my article last night, and in retrospect, I should've waited and talked to more people involved before printing it.
I want to apologize to Josh Frost and Claire Littleton. I should've known both of them well enough to know they'd drop out before reset and not actually carry through with their PTO attempts. They're good people, Josh is one of the best citizens in this country's history (and an awesome President), and Claire has done a lot for this country too (I picked her as my Deputy Speaker when I was Speaker of the House).
That being said, I'm actually more mad about the actions of several people now than when I wrote the article last night.
I have been shown proof from both sides that mass messages were sent in support of the wrong candidate. I've seen the messages, don't try to deny it.
That's indefensible by both the USWP/Revolution and the Libs/Counter-Revolution. Both sides messed up here and there was no good or right side. Don't try to say otherwise. I'm looking at you, people who have commented in my last article and sent me PMs.
Stuff like this makes me mourn for this country -- I thought we were past this political infighting. The parties had cooperated at an unprecedented level in recent months. I fear that my no longer as a result of this (though hope I am wrong).
Roleplaying is fine, but it can't get in the way of game mechanics or working for our country together.
There are still a couple of domestic PTO candidates on ballots. Cromstar has assured me that his attempt to PTO SEES has nothing to do with the revolution or counter-revolution, and he doesn't have any party support. Pdeb made it on the ballot and have no idea why he ran. Both PTOs are indefensible and I hope they lose.
This has been a sad couple of days for our country, and I hope we don't ever go through something like this again.

Also I agree with you that this Revolution/counter-revolution stuff is beginning to harden the actual lines of political discourse which is troubling. I fear that newer players will not be "in" on the whole ruse and will take to heart the divisions.
I'm not sure you need to really apologize. Not everyone knew how far Claire/Frost were willing to take things. Nothing against them but we should not be making PTO's 'cool' if possible.
Here here liggy. The leaders of the country work amazingly well with each other, but the seedy, darker people of the country are the ones who take advantage of these situations and essentially make it that much more difficult for us who have worked hard for peace.
Pretty sure the Top fivers can find a mutual enemy to bring them together.

with you 100% on this lit, TOing parties in your own country sucks hard...
Frost and Claire running as candidates in other parties is just as bad as a fake impeachment of the president.
Neither should have happened and the moment the revolution was affected by game mechanics, IE each running in a party it was taking it to far.
It all just reinforces; 'it's all fun until someone loses an eye!'

Your larger point remains: the Revolution/Counter joke was fun for awhile. I indulged, many others did.
But seriously, there are enough people in other countries trying to kill us without us helping them out with suicidal infighting.
Our similarities are more important than our differences.

See what happenes when you make a ton of drama as a way to increase activity? People take it too far and it snowballs out of control. I warned that this drama was bad for the nation and now we can see the first shockwaves.
How many of the people wont take this joke as a joke but as a rallying cry? How many enemy nations will see it as an oppertunity to get into the country "Because I Want to join the Counter-Revolution/revolution"
Yes its been good to get people involved but its become twisted and has great potential to do long term harm to the nation. Its pushed new users out of the country or out of the game in some cases and yet it keeps going...
