Stuff that is happening in the world [Day 2039]

Day 2,039, 04:35 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Thomas765

Hey all,

It is significantly hard to try and leave this gorram game when it's summer and you have nothing to do. So I've sort of returned. Joined the dentists and remained with the UKRP.

I haven't really kept out of the loop with the game, to be honest. I've been rather enjoying the CoT getting their arses handed to them. Anyway, this is a foreign affairs report from the elder days.

First and foremost...

Conquest of the USA

Ultimately, this is exactly what the USA wants as it helps them unite against the PTO threat that had been escalating as a result of FreeArea's PTO of the AMP. Their PP election ATO, with the help of CoT citizens, was a success early on into the election. In the meantime, America is being invaded by seven TWO and ACT members - Hungary, Montenegro, Poland, Republic of China, Serbia, Thailand and the United Kingdom, all of whom have been quite successful in their endeavours. Thailand, in particular, has been struggling with their RWs, having lost several regions. So far, the UK has been able to hold on to Maine by the skin of their teeth, with the battle being a tough call in the later hours of the day.

Hungary, Poland, Serbia and Taiwan have so far met very little resistance. Serbia have been able to cut off the USA's bonuses, which included the originally Mexican region of Baja.

It's not hard to see how this escalated into a full scale war. Previous attempts by both Hungary and Serbia had been thwarted by the USA. Serbia obtaining Aquitaine and Midi-Pyrenees, meant that a border between Serbia and the USA was re-established. The war, consequently, started again. It'll be interesting to see what will happen over the next couple of days as the number of regions that the USA possesses is decreasing every day.

There appears to be a small amount of discontent towards the USA in Chile's congress, with 10 people voting no to the MPP renewal. This may be as a result of Chile's loss of Australian and New Zealand regions and their struggle against Argentina.

This is what the current situation looks like in the USA, with the exception of Hawaii and Alaska, both of which are currently occupied by Taiwan and Hungary respectively.

Greece to join TWO; New Zealand and Australia to join ACT

TWO HQ has announced last night that TWO will be gaining three new members, pushing the total number of TWO members up to 19.

After months of occupation from both Indonesia and Chile (CoT members) and the inability to rely on NaN to help free them, Australia has decided to join TWO. However, there was a little bit of controversy within Australia about the way the decision was handled, as can be read here. The Prime Minister of Australia has written an update article, announcing their membership.

Greece has been building up for TWO membership since EDEN's collapse three months ago, with discussions going on for months. Both TWO and Greece share a common enemy, the Republic of Macedonia, and with the expiration of Serbia's MPP with them, they joined the alliance.

New Zealand has been neutral on the CoT vs. TWO stance, having close allies on both fronts, notably Serbia. So it's hardly surprising that they made the swap, especially given a number of their population is Serbian.

Welcome to TWO o7

Peace between the UK and Ireland

It was a war that I never thought I'd want to see again, after a year of uneasy, but working peace that escalated earlier this year on two occasions, the most recent war being down to the fact that MUFC992, prophet from Croatian India, didn't respect a NAP that was signed a day before he declared war on the UK. After being wiped for a month and a half and after missing out on congress elections last month, Ireland has successfully been able to bring themselves back on the map.

As a result, both the CP of the UK, Mr Woldy and the CP of Ireland, Sweet drinker, have been able to agree on peace between the two nations, with the approval of congress. The NAP gives four regions back to Ireland and the UK retains two, Shannon and Mayo. You can read the NAP here by Sweet Drinker.

So, uh, yeah, that's it. I would have more imagery but my damn photobucket seems to have imploded because of TWO's articles hogging the bandwith. They should be back soon though.

That is all,
Thomas
