Hello fellow TUP'ers!

The Party President elections will occur on the 15th, and I shall again be running for you.
I feel I have led quite a successful term as party president, we’ve seen a slight increase in membership, and for the first time held a majority of congress, getting a large amount of officials elected.


Plans for the Party

As I did last month, I would like to outline a few directions I would like to take the party in. TUP does quite a lot already, but at a push we could do significantly more.


Party Awareness

Being the second largest party in the eUK, many people will know about The Unity Party. However, I feel that perhaps not as many people know what the party is about, and how we function. TUP is in interesting and fun party to be involved in, a lot of what we do is based on contributions from party members. Hopefully, increasing awareness amongst existing party members will urge them to move onto the forums, and get involved in policy discussions and party debates.

Another tool we have at our disposal, is The Unity Press. This is TUP’s official paper, and articles are released regularly from it. I would like to increase TUP’s presence in the media, and increase the amount of articles we release. As well as that, I would like to promote members of TUP to write party articles for their own paper, mainly to better utilise the different writing styles that members have, and to present a more varied range of TUP articles in the media.


Congress

As mentioned, this term TUP was very successful in the congress elections. Although it may be very difficult to do so, I aim to maintain a majority in congress. Thanks to the arrival of Canadian regions last term, more people were able to run. This time, it is more likely we will not have as many regions, so campaigning will be even more important in order to maintain a majority in congress. However, my advice to last months candidates seemed helpful, and I am willing to help any fledgling politicians work on their manifesto.


Public

Increasing Party to public communication is always important. I would like to promote congressmen communication with people in their region, allowing the public to be informed and healthy, and allowing congressmen to build a rapport with the people who elected them.

Not only that, but I would like to invite members onto the forums, where they can really contribute to the party politics, no matter how experienced they are. The TUP also has an IRC channel, party members who use the #eUK channel are invited to come and visit us in the party channel.


Past Experience

Most notably, I was the PP last term. However, I have also been a congressmen, and have been a cabinet minister for the past 3 terms, as MoW, and MoHa. My experience in running for congress, and ability to organise large groups of people means that tasks such as organising media campaigns will be carried out effectively and with reasonable speed.
