I'm proud of this country

These three articles made me smile more than any in this game have for a long time:

From Sea to Shining Sea
Congressional Freeze Info
The Big Freeze

Say what you want about the morality of PTOs (Political Take Overs) but they're a necessary part of the game given the rules. Both Phoenix and EDEN/Brolliance have benefited greatly in the past from having countries PTOed, and it wasn't that long ago our country was under significant PTO threat. If there is ever a time when there is open citizenship in America, our enemies will try to PTO us, no matter how nice we are.

The reason these articles made me smile was that it shows we're evolving as a country. Our leaders in the government, military and our parties are thinking about how to use all the strategies within the rules to help our country and our allies. They're not limiting themselves, and willing to take drastic actions and risk their political livelihoods. For this, I am proud.

Our country wasn't always this way. Back at the beginning of the American invasion in early summer 2009, an opportunity presented itself to PTO France, one of the countries that was attacking us and Canada. We tried back then to get the parties to come together and agree on a Congressional freeze, and a majority of parties agreed, but not all of them. The plan broke down, and our efforts to PTO France lost by a few dozen votes. In the weeks after the failed election, America was reduced to only one state (Florida). The failure of our parties to come together back then was the darkest day in the history of our country.

No event before that and since then saddened me more. When we were losing states left and right, I was sad not just because we were losing, but because we could've stopped it and didn't, because we put politics ahead of the country. We let some politicos complain we were doing away with our democracy, not realizing their policies helped our country nearly get eliminated.

True story: One of my Congressional medals is from France. I won my race, but didn't have enough Americans or allies elected with me to really do anything meaningful.

Seeing that our parties have agreed to freeze elections made me happy inside. I'm proud of our leaders, I'm proud of our country.

I encourage all Americans to help out doing whatever they can. If you're worried about your ability to publish articles in the American media while you have foreign citizenship, I make the following offer: I will allow any American that gets Russian citizenship and wants to publish an article in the American media to use my newspaper. The least I could do, since I'm running for Congress here yet again.

Thank you all.
