Thanks Mick and good luck to all candidates, especially KHMC'ers.
A lottery to determine order? Wow.
As opposed to PPs deciding leaving it open to corruption and bribery it's a step up. You have a better idea?
GGP determine how many places we have and give our members thay many votes. So 10 places = 10 votes. Ties are broken by the PP.
Ok so this sense being 11 candidates it's roughly the same number.
10 people each vote 1 for themselves and you break the tie giving them a spot, ergo you decide the order in each case.

If you let each Party member vote, then it also works out well. It's also good for the PP to disqualify obvious slackers before the ballot.
So far neither of you have explained your process sufficiently other than the PP having a end influence in the order of the ballot. We're not a right wing fascist dictatorship. Members matter in the KHMC and there is zero tolerance towards member bullying by other members. Other parties are free to run their ship how they see fit - not here.
I did not realise you had 10 candidates and 11 active members in the party. The system works fine when you have more active members than congress candidates.
That wasn't what I was saying at all. Think about it - the way you and Binda are selling it is that there's fan clubs surrounding each candidate pushing them out front every election while other candidates have to fight for air time. How many times did Lancer get the benefit of that before the new system came in? Both of you absorbed far more than the region quota you needed to get elected while other players couldn't get a shoe in. Thank goodness for the new system is all I can say or new players still wouldn't stand a chance.
Firstly, your members either buy into the recruitment propoganda of giving new members a chance or they vote in blocks to favour themselves over the party. Either way, your members are the heart of the party and trump any policy once they get to Congress.
Secondly, I have had to break very few ties. Democracy means trusting the membership to make the best selection of not only keeping Congress fresh and active, but creating a list with broad enough appeal to actually win seats. You either make sure your best people get elected to put on a good face for the electorate in Congress for the next election or trust that nobody notices your rough proposals or general abscence in running the country.
The cynics may say its all only a Gold Club. We think its a duty of service to Australia.
I more often than not used to get in on the exerience level tie breaker, twice on zero votes becase of the the region quota, and many times becausr an opposition party had votes to spare and preferred me in the benches over somd other rival. Hogging I did not.
H.Nelson was the best example really; often getting 30+ votes more than anyone else. In today's system your members would be insane not to include guaranteed votes like him in order to get others in. Anti popular players in a system leveraging popularity mixed with an environment with multies is just self-destructive.
I honestly believe party popularity built on nepotism naturally destructs. Trust your members to pick who is best for future election success over a winning smile and cash in thd pockrt. If not, then you need to consider hanging with a different crowd like the Green & Gold 😉
