Join the new world

Tomorrow, when it comes time to vote for congress, I want you to vote for yourself.



I'm not going to write this article to write about how good our candidates for congress are. I already know they are beyond competent enough in doing what their job really is, because that's not what congressional election is about, my fellow citizens. People tend to forget what they're actually voting for. You're voting for yourself. You're not voting for another face nor an ideology.

People can list off all the details of their resume. About how much they've done or succeeded or perhaps referrals from pals in the same party, but that's not the most important part of choosing who to vote for.



When you click that vote button tomorrow, think about what you want. Think about your ideas and your opinions. Think about your hard work. Think about what will get you the farthest. This edemocracy, just like in real life, isn't here for the benefit of a few individuals who want to stick their faces on the ballot. It's here for the benefit of the people. The very same people who pay the taxes, who fight the wars, and who work every day to keep it going.

The Black Sheep Party has never been interested in running faces. It's interested in running it's people's ideas and beliefs. Each month brings new faces that want a go at representing it's people and are given that chance, because it's not about running the same old, weary faces over and over again. It's about providing the people with the representation they deserve.

In my first true election in this game, to my utmost surprise, I was put at second on the ballot. I was told that new players are given that chance to express their voice and opinion and to be truly heard in congress, as best as someone can on those gosh darn forums nowadays.

Heck, when the next election came around, I took to the values of our party. I didn't find myself deserving of the righteous opportunity to represent my fellow citizens. I wasn't as active as I hoped I'd be nor done enough in my eyes. When HWF asked me why I didn't put my name in, I told him that, and he let me know that I'd always be welcome to run again if I changed my mind.



When a portion of the congress this previous month got together to hike up our taxes, citizens in our party and many among the other parties were outraged by it. The Black Sheep Party along with the SFP and some others from the other parties took to action, came together and made sure we lowered that tax, because we heard the outcry from our fellow citizens. We knew it was our civic duty to do as they pleaded.

Even after our successful campaign to lower the tax, the same portion of congress ignored those very same pleas from their 'subjects' and immediately tried to raise the tax back up. This vote end in a disastrous fail, of course. And now this fight won't stop, because this next month we aim to lower it back down to 1%.



We hear your cries fellow eAmericans. We feel your pains. As I described in my previous article (https://www.erepublik.com/en/article/what-it-means-to-be-a-black-sheep-2662566/1/20), to be a black sheep is to be yourself.

So I ask you once more, my fellow citizens, vote yourself.
