The Pledge:
The eUS is once again wracked by turmoil, this time due to the very plan I created in order to unite it. Cries of tyrant and traitor are being bandied about as if we didn’t have anyone to fight but ourselves. All the while our allies have received no extra guarantees of help or any true reason to expect anything different out of America. The eUS has also lost one of its regions for the first time in its history. This was something many of us saw coming, however the effect was still sobering. I have no doubts we can win this war over the long run but at this moment I can make no such guarantees to our allies. It has come to a point where it is time for the USWP to step up or shut up and I am not the kind of man who is willing to shut up.
The Turn:
This is the official announcement that the USWP will be running only one candidate for congress next term (the only reason we are running that one is because the PP ship would be passed on if I were to leave the country). All 49 (currently) other states will be available by request to sixth party candidates.
The USWP will take part in no vote moving within the United States and will participate in no campaigning within the next week. Please report any campaigns to my attention and I shall politely request they be removed.
The Prestige:
All USWP voters are requested to join the http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?hl=en&formkey=cjB1T3I0bzNoM2s4aUdWZXU5MWRPLVE6MA>USWP Freedom Squad which is being prepared to protect foreign allies against PTOs and acts of aggression. As PP it is not my right to require you join our organization, however I am willing to plead with you. The USWP represents the largest party in the world, were we able to mobilize even half of our membership we could protect any country against even the most vicious of PTO attempts. This represents a chance for our party to act on the principles, on which it was founded, a chance to protect our allies, a chance to step beyond the petty boundaries of US politics into something greater, a chance to put our money where our mouth is. Candidates who do not want to take part in this operation still have the option to run under other parties (with their permission of course); however the USWP will not be running candidates.
I have asked our entire election staff to stay on as well as our congressional whip in order to help orchestrate what can only be described as a massive effort to mobilize the USWP in a global time of crisis. We will be working on amassing enough tickets to move all members of the party willing to take part in the operation.
The Response:
I understand we may lose some members due to this. I understand many of you will be angry. I understand exactly what it is that I am doing, however I believe that at this juncture it is the best option for the eUS.

I will explain to you every aspect of my decision and when the PP elections come round again feel free to remove the responsibility you have given me from me. I know this plan may seem a shadow of the great successes of Ananias and the thought of throwing away, even for an instant, what he worked so hard to build gave me pause. I can only hope that I am right, that this plan is the right decisions, and that our sacrifice will help. However I would like to publically apologize to Ananias for the hours of work we have never properly respected. You are a true leader in the USWP and I can only hope to achieve what you have.

I would like to share most of the credit for this concept, but none of the blame. Josh Frost one of the primary architects of the USAF, a trusted friend, and an unbending patriot originally came up with this idea and without him it wouldn’t have been possible.
As we move forward I can only hope that as many eAmericans as we can muster join the effort to protect our allies and secure this election. Unity is what we require. Unity is what me must deliver.

Good luck! I know that the UIP would be willing to run members with experience and leadership who would be valuable remaining in the Congress.

Well, as you know, the USWP control of our country is evil and exactly why we're being invaded right now. USWP clearly makes the country a s***hole so it's best off we just leave.

I proposed something similar to this a few hours ago (http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/voting-and-elections--861744/1/20), and while I certainly make no claim to have influenced or inspired this move by the USWP, it's very heartening to see an eUSA party putting its money where its mouth is, so to speak.

A very interesting idea, but now the eUS will be left without several quality Congressmen from the USWP. I'm not sure what to think about this plan. It will be great if the people who run for Congress instead of the USWP candidates are good Congressmen, but if they aren't then this might do more harm to our country than it does good for others.

Teucer, would you stop with the "taking people's rights" business? That's not what this is about. This is _voluntary_. USWP candidates can still run, even under their own party's banner (I think), and USWP voters can stay here and vote for whoever they want. What they're doing is asking for volunteers to answer the country's dire need, which is exactly what we need to be doing right now.
That means we will have all those seats open next election that could possibly be turned over to PEACE if they try a PTO.

Just wow. In my short time here in the game, this is by far the most admirable decision I've seen made. As an opponent of the seat freeze, this move impresses me to a great degree. And as a member of the UIP, a party that has been attacked at great length over the past 24 hours, I have to applaud this move by the USWP. While I may not still agree with any primary system or anything like it, let us all wish no ill-will to the congressmen that are giving up their seats. They took a big, positive step today.

Wow. This is pretty big. I wish the USWP the best in their ventures. I am sure this was a tough decision for all of their leadership, and will be tough on their members. I do hope they receive the support they deserve.
Zcia, I think I get what you are saying here. You will not campaign any candidate, and are going to send as many USWP party members to the Air Force as possible, correct? If so let me know what the UIP can do to help get members into the Air Force. Our members are committed to that cause as well.
It is important for people to remember that candidates can still run under the USWP banner. Part Presidents cannot deny someone the chance to run. The only choice Party Presidents get is to choose one candidate when two candidates run under the same party.
I think what is important here is that the USWP will focus on the Air Force instead of the elections. I can agree to this and will do my best to get UIP members into the Air Force as well. Our Mobile Voting Group has already been suspended and will be focused on the Air Force instead. I am glad that the USWP has agreed to focus on the Air Force instead of creating an entirely new program.

I am totally blown away by this--USWP you have amazed me with this move. I have been without a party since I start eRep a couple of months ago--I couldn't stand all the partisanship in the face of PTO threats and I felt like a good amount of the partisanship was the fault of the USWP.
With that said, I am joining the USWP.

This is "people's rights". The USWP has chosen not to field official candidates, but they aren't forcing their members to do anything.
So by sitting here and nattering on about "oh, this is at the expense of people's rights", you're completely demolishing your own position. Since, you know, the USWP isn't taking anyone's rights away with this move.
But by all means, continue to misinterpret and misunderstand what's going on. You're not doing any damage except to yourself, so it doesn't really matter.
