Detailed Flawed Military Strategy

Day 622, 14:04 Published in Canada Canada by Rolo Tahmasee

We can take this back as far as the start of the War. When the first attacks happened the orders were simple. At the time citizens as well as the Canadian Government had stockpiles of gold, canadian currency and weapons and the orders to "Defend Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick we obvious....

But even with that, in the days leading up to the war.... Where were the following:

1)Instructions about how to get into the CAF Reserves?

Now to be fair, these orders eventually came after the fall of Quebec, but anyone who followed them quickly realized that it took an enourmous amount of time to actually get into a platoon (for me 6 days) and once there, was told that there was not enough money for me for weapons and supplies

If this initiative had been done before the war started, and membership expedited back at a time when the government had cash reserves, could it had made a difference on the Atlantic Coast, or in Quebec? - possibly, but we'll never know.........

2)What to do if in Occupied Territory?

Start a Resistance War?, Get a Moving Ticket? The answer was not exactly clear. Unfortunately, as the war went on , the answer became Moving Ticket, but it was up to the tireless efforts and initiative of one citizen, Tyler F Durden to re-patriate Canadians in occupied territory.

Now Tyler did a FANTASTIC job, but it was a very realistic possibility that we would lose territory in this war and aside from a small ad in Canadian Immigration, no-one was sure If they had to move?, Why they had to move?, Where to move to?, These are things that should have been made clear to every active Canadian when the fighting began, or preferably BEFORE the fighting began. Also a stockpile of moving tickets would have been helpful as well, as many, including Tyler had to dig deep into their own pockets to fund them

3)Who to listen to for Orders, Where to find them and How often will they be updated?

The fact of the matter is in this game, there were many 2 click players (Eat, Train, Logoff). One day these players were going to log on and see a fight someplace. With out being able to read the battlefield screen and assess the situation, some of them may have clicked "Fight" a few times and logged off-

But for some, they relied on Orders coming from the government or one of it's leaders to tell them where to fight. They were also told to spend Gold and "Defend at all costs" so as these citizens followed these orders, unfortunately because these orders were outdated and the battle at that time was already lost, These supplies and Gold were wasted...Think of a level 12 soldier buying Q5 weapons going into a fight that was at -200,000 - Does this sound like a good use of his or the countries resources? - His leadership needs to tell him to stop and save it for a better fight and he needs to know where to go to get that message

Now that we've covered the missed opportunities BEFORE the war started, Lets examine what has happened AFTER the fighting began

Atlantic Canada - Due to the issues above, a very dis-organized legion of Canadian citizens brought the best fight they could with unfortunate results. Could some sort of education regarding weaponry (A Q5 is better in the hands of a high strength, experienced soldier that a new soldier with low health) maybe, could we have gotten creative "donating these weapons from soldier to soldier, getting the right weapon in the right hands...maybe

Quebec - Quebec was one of our Canadian Strongholds. Our government strategy was to wait until the last hour of the fight and to tank then. Great, so all day Canadians spent their Gold, CAD, and resources to hold off the attack. When the 23 hour mark on the fight came, the orders were to stand down as it was seen as pointless to spend the resources at that point in the fight as Quebec looked to be gone at that point. The excuse we were told is we were going to "Save the fight for another day". Alright I can accept that at face value.....but I do wonder if the same think that prevented us from tanking (A large battle deficit with the uncertainty that the enemy may have more to come, might have posed the same questions to the enemy had we tanked earlier, given our wall a big lead and left them thinking if they brought more, that we might bring more as well. Would they have decided to save their gold and fight another day......maybe, but we'll never know

Manitoba and Saskatchewan - If we couldn't hold Quebec, there was no reason to believe that we could have held either of these provinces with no defense systems, and low citizen populations. Consolidating our resources with American allies might have been better instructions as helping them win their battles then might have slowed the incursion in to North America, and possibly left us in a better position in future battles

Alberta - When the fight came to Alberta, the orders and government propaganda was that this was going to be out "big stand", "line in the sand", "this far no further". The battle went well through most of the day, but in the end, with the Canadian Tanks on the hills, they elected to turn around and retreat. I followed the orders that day and believed the "HYPE" that this was our last stand and we were going to give it EVERYTHING we had. I spend every dollar, every piece of gold I had in that battle, because I BELIEVED that the orders I was being given, the excuses about not thanking Quebec (saving it for another day) that this was that day and my Fight would not be in vain. Even after I was out of Gold and Money, Donations from around the world came in for me to keep fighting. My Question is, WHEN WAS THE DECISION MADE NOT TO TANK, and how much was wasted by me and my fellow citizens after that decision was made to to lack of orders/direction?????? Also, in the end would Canadian resources have nbeen better spend trying to keep the Indo's out of California. Had that battle gone the other way, would the Americans be in a better position to help us now? - WAS THIS EVEN CONSIDERED????

Montana - I don't even want to get in to the part about us and the U.S. both attacking Montana at the same time - We were in the wrong there and it was just SLOPPY

Yukon/NWT - we got it handed to us in these battles and we should have. My problem is the orders were still to go there even though the Government had no intention of putting up a serious fight there. Resources wasted by the average citizen...again

Washington State and B.C. - "Defend Washington - 0830" These were the orders. When I logged on at 11:00 pst I saw a wall at -180,000 not exactly a good sign considering we didn't tank Quebec at -70,000 and that had a Q5 hospital and defense system. What did Washington State have that would have led me to believe we would spend our precious (and dwindling) resources there. But the orders were to fight there and throughout the day, with 13 hours left to go the battle was at -293,000 and orders had not change, and I would see Canadian Soldiers using their fight there. At 2:00 am pst the battle was at -547,000, orders still the same and with 15 minutes left - 636,000. I 've never seen a blowout like that before.

Now I have major issues with this battle and the following points speak volumes

1) Washington State? really, no hospital, no defense system, no citizens, and do we not see the battle for B.C. happening shortly thereafter. Would it not be a better idea for our citizens to save their fight/weapons/money for a defense of one of our last strongholds?

2)The Orders - Stayed the same all day - At one point H.Nelson (Hungarian in Canada) posted to fight at all costs in Washington (knowing the battle for his side was won, and have us waste our resources there in a lost cause). Now we know what side he is looking out for, I find it embarrassing for our leadership that their orders were the same as his.

3)Other Opportunities - I had been noting that throughout the day our American Allies were putting up strong fights in their states against Russian/Portugese and Indo's in battles they had a real chance of winning, possibly helping turn the tide in North America. These were brought to the attention of Jacobi and with the battle in Washington at -293,000, the orders to defend Washington still stood

See the comments here

4)Non confidence in the Jacobi Administration - It was stated in the wire service by Kelly Mahoney here

http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/day-622-defend-british-colombia-orders-updated-11h-880310/1/20

that we were expecting allied armies to help us in the fight. It is obvious that they feel no pressure in keeping their word and to further that, given the battle was a lost cause from the get go at staggering deficits in the battle, I believe the average citizen no longer blindly follows the orders given by the administration. Jacobi has cried "WOLF" so many times with "defend at all cost" only not to do his part, that as citizens and perhaps allied forces we are jaded to the message

5) Tactical Intelligence/Logistics - It was also noted in comments that citizens could have "2 fights" in Washington, their day 621 fight, then a hospital visit and assumingly their day 622 fight. MY GOD - in day 622 B.C. was attacked, Had citizens used their day 622 fight in the Washington State lost cause, what would happen to B.C. People would have nothing left had they followed orders that were NEVER CHANGED, even though circumstances throughout the battle and the day clearly had...

Our military leadership and that of our president Jacobi seems to be a case of the Blind leading the Visually Challenged

Jacobi could give Orson Wells book 1984 a run for his money with his "The Merchantman" Articles. His ability to put "spin" on the smallest detail from the day before and make it into some kind of turning point for the war is laughable at best. It's either "spin" or perhaps that is the way he views the war - in the moment with no consideration for tomorrow or foresight. I am not sure which one is worse...

It has been noted, that Jacobi does not play this game as a wargame. That much is painfully obvious, but the fact of the matter is either this is a wargame, or it has become a wargame and this fact is not going to change for the foreseeable future.

We need a leader who can lead us in a time of war
