Getting on the Ballot

Well, that was fun. No established Political Party picked me up. That's alright, I understand.. I'm a soldier, not a politician.. not one of the boys.. that's okay, though, 'cause that's the way I like it.
And it's true, so true, you really can't have it both ways.
So we're gonna have it Custer's way. Anyone who's served with me knows what that means.
I knew what needed to be done and I went and did it.
Welcome to the American Military Party.
Right of Center, Authoritarian, one member-- and he's runnin' for President!

http://www.yqworld.com/yqblog/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/voting.bmp" align="left" border="1" width="300">I urge all US Military personnel to quit your current Political Party-- now, right now-- and join the American Military Party. We'll get representation in government, alright.

Come Election Day... I expect you'll have to scroll pretty far down the list.. you know, way past the Top Five and deep into the "unauthorized candidates" to find the link to vote for me.
But do it. Put me in there as PigInZen's Vice President, and you know I'll get things done.

I'll run an article each of these days before the election days to cover major topics in detail.
Monday, a bio piece as an Introduction; Yesterday, a little about my stand on Foreign Policy; Tomorrow I'll hit Domestic Policy.

Custer's Stand on the US Military

Sensitive subject, here.. I hope you read my Bio piece a couple issues back. I hope you understand that I love our USArmy-- not just as a fun aspect of the game, it's been my whole eLife... I've poured my heart and soul into it. I've worked my ass off for our USArmy, and I've dumped a bit of my own money into it as well. I know others have done the same, I know there are Soldiers in every branch of our US Military who have dedicated their entire game play to serving our country in uniform.
We are a proud bunch, we soldiers, and we deserve that pride.

But things have changed around here lately. Some of it's actually "Classified", more of it is just "Sensitive" information I can't just blast out in a newspaper article. I've seen it first hand, the changes in our USArmy. I've heard from soldiers in other US Military branches. As Senior USArmy Public Affairs Officer I've done my best to present these changes in the best light possible, but... the more true light shed on the situation the more clear it becomes... It's not working.

While I don't oppose the existence of independent Militias-- the Seal Team 6 and others really did a lot of fighting at the height of the War-- I do oppose Government funding of these Militias, especially when it's to the point of crippling the regular authorized branches of service's ability to function. Historically, RL speaking, independent Militias have been privately funded.. of course there may be a little unmarked envelope, a quiet contribution for Black Ops being handled off the grid.. but not the kind of Militia funding we're seeing now.

We have six branches of the US Military, in order of strength requirements-- Training Corps, National Guard, Mobile Infantry, the Army, the Airborne, and the Marines. Civilians can join the Training Corps with no minimum skill, National Guard at strength 4, and the Mobile Infantry will take you at strength 7. A citizen can join up within weeks of starting in eRep, and play their whole eLife in the Military.

You Soldiers know what I mean.

American Civilians and Businessmen, let me say this to you-- straight up and no bullsh*t:
You deserve to have your tax dollars managed responsibly.
You deserve to know that the Soldiers who fight for you are properly equipped-- first and absolutely.

Second Place, not First and not Third
Yes, I'm repeating this section verbatim

Running for Vice President, not President? Yes, Absolutely. Second-In-Command, not The Man.
For that job you want PigInZen, candidate on the USWP Party ticket.
He's declared that he would have as his Vice President the second highest vote-getter in the race.

This presents a potential problem. I do not wish to strip votes away from PigInZen; I do not seek the Highest Office; and most of all I don't want us to land as #'s three and four instead of President PigInZen with me as second-most vote-getter.

Problem resolution is my thing. Whether or not it works is up to those who choose to, or not to, employ the tactic as laid out here:
http://www.wavsource.com/snds_2010-02-28_4237344900113408/people/politics/bushw_solve4.wav
Just as in Congressional Elections, most citizens will vote when it's convenient, during their normal game play time frame. This amounts to the bulk of votes cast, but sometimes elections come down to the wire and there's a last minute mobilization for yet-uncast votes to make a final push for a candidate.
I'll be holding my own vote to the end of the day, checking the tally so far, and if PigInZen does not have a clear lead I will be voting for him. If he's miles ahead and we can be sure he will be our next President, I'll vote for myself.
I hope enough people will do this to elect PigInZen as President for sure; my own second place finish is second priority.

I was interviewed by Zheng He for his paper, 2-Clicker Morning Coffee.
See PigInZen's clear plan for our future at his Irregular Repertoire paper.
