Xavier Griffith 4 PM Platform

Day 862, 22:35 Published in Australia Australia by Xavier Griffith

Greetings My Fellow Australians,

Surprisingly, the Australian Independents have decided to put me forward as a contender for the April Prime Ministerial elections. Short notice, I know, so things are still forming, however I do have some of my Election Platform worked out and some of my Cabinet, so will present my administration plan as it currently stands, although, this will probably expand as it draws nearer to the election and I have discussions with my allotted Cabinet Members. Before I start to outline my own platform, I’d like to outline my experience in relation to why people should vote for me as Prime Minister.

Experience

I’ve never been Prime Minster, I admit, I have been Deputy Prime Minister under Prime Minister Patti in October 2009 however, served 5 Terms in Cabinet over all in the following positions and capacity:
1 Term as Cabinet Secretary to Prime Minister Cottus during his first term as PM;
2 Terms as Minister for Information and personal advisor to Prime Minister Patti in his First and Second terms;
1 Term as Deputy Prime Minister as mentioned; and
1 Term in Cerb’s Cabinet as Parliamentary Secretary.

On top of all this, I’ve been the Inspector General once, Senate Speaker 3 Terms and a Senator for 12 Terms, 12 and ¾ if you consider the ¾ of a term I served in the eIsraeli Knesset.

Some of my greatest Achievements, if only to me, have been the setting up and structuring of the eAustralian Senate and Government System, and then working with Patti on the re-structuring of the Government to a full Parliament system which has never been used to its full potential by any Prime Minster or Cabinet since it was formed. The other greatest personal achievement for me was AIRRA (Australian Indonesian Region Return Agreement). While Patti tends to take the credit for it, it was I that actually wrote the Agreement and advised Prime Minister Patti during some of the negotiations with the Indonesians in trying to have it implemented. As much as many would hate to acknowledge, many Prime Ministers of eAustralia have consulted me in regards to various issues and asked for my assistance in many of them, the unsung adviser in the shadows 🙂

Transparency

One of the major issues in the Government that I currently see is the secretive nature of the Cabinet’s, especially of late. It has always been one of the fights I’ve had in the Senate, lack of transparency and communication from Cabinet to the Senate and from the Cabinet to the People in general. As Prime Minister of our great Nation, this will change. The full Parliamentary process that was created and implemented will be utilised fully on the forums, the Cabinet Forum will contain discussions by the Cabinet of what’s going on and expected, except in cases where Cabinet and I decide otherwise, this however would occur on a far smaller scale than what has been occurring for the last few months.

Also, to further enhance this major Transparency move by the Cabinet and the Office of the Prime Minister, the Minister of Public Relation, Minister Dartreal, will be producing regular updates and notices both on eRepublik and also on the forums notifying the public of what’s occurring, both from the Prime Minister’s Office and from the Departments of Cabinet. Another move that will be implemented will be a QA notification once per week or Fortnight for the PM to answer and released officially by the Department of Public Relations to the Public.

Finance

I recognise that eAustralia’s finances are an issue, dues especially to over spending for many months, and my Administration will continue to work on cutting costs were possible without endangering the country militarily, and continuing to bring eAustralia’s national deficit with spending back under control. It cant be argued that eAustralia’s finances have improved dramatically over the last term of office, and that due in large part to Wally Wilson, and while I have asked Wally to join my Cabinet due to his skill and experience, he has chosen to take a break from politics, which is something I can understand is occasionally needed. With this in mind, I’m proud to announce that John Sykes will be the Minister of Finance, and which Patti has already pointed out, has quite a lot of experience and knowledge in the world market area.

One of the main aims that I will be looking at is the tax issues this term. With the improvement in eAustralia’s finances, I’ll be looking at having the Income Tax lowered should I enter office, it will be my aim to lower Income tax by at least 3% if not a full 5% thereby returning it to 10% across the board.

Military

Some of the Military actions over the last term have been abominable, and while not always our fault, the situation needs to be seriously looked at and resolved. With the eUSA leaving EDEN, and possibly Canada as well, serious thought and discussion needs to be entered into in relation to the potential issues that are likely to arise out of this. I will be looking at the options of making formal alliances with some of the other nations in the eWorld. I would also be looking at increasing or better organising war games with our allies so that our Troops and Citizens can continue to have wargames if not real wars to participate in. This will be the main responsibility of my Minister of Defence, Minister Schoft.

The Department of Defence will also be moving to do the following:
• ensure that all Dropbears and ACUK members are fully active at all times, those only semi-active will be dropped and replaced with those that are active.
• Weapon issues will be allocated and restricted to those that are Active and the type of weapons issued will be corrected so that FM and Generals that may be landlocked and in AAR will not be given only Q1 weapons when higher class weapons would be better issued where full battles and defences are needed during wars.
• Looking at ways to ensure deployment for war operates smoothly and efficiently while ensuring the most impact.
• Developing concepts and plans for the Military based on the information available to us, for when V2 comes in.

Administration

Those that know me and have done for some time know I will not allow slacking off in the Cabinet. Those I put in my cabinet will be working their butts off or else they will be gone. I won’t put up with slacking off. While there isn’t a huge amount that I would be looking at achieving during my term, as the country is in reasonable shape already, I’d like things to be moved along quickly and efficiently so that we will have time to deal with any emergency issues that may arise through the term.

Cabinet Lineup

I’ll be presenting my Cabinet List closer to the Election date, but if anybody would be interested in a position with my Cabinet feel free to PM me on the Forums, if the position hasn’t already been taken I’ll consider them all seriously.
