Work Tax, SHIELD CO, and more!

Day 2,373, 11:29 Published in USA USA by Jefferson Locke

Sometimes, there are moments that can define who a party is and where they are going. But more on that in a minute, I promise.

Last month, our goal was to set our party up for the future, making it easier for us to help new players and for future Party Presidents. One of the main ways in which we sought to do that was the Fed Treasury, which has been a huge success.

The treasury is doing extremely well, and shows no signs of slowing down under the Leadership of Mazzy Cat and the generosity of Feds and non Feds alike. I want to personally thank everyone that has donated their money to us, which allows us to set up programs that help new players, many of the programs helping non feds as well.

We have even more programs in the works, but for now I can only say that they will be awesome, and we will have updates on them very soon.

We saw some great former members come back to the party because of our thriving community. Our forums are more active now than they have been in a year, and our leadership team is very excited about that. One of the great ways to judge the work of not only a PP but those that serve in the cabinet is the activity for the month.

Our cabinet has seen some changes this month, with BamaBettie moving into leadership as the head of FedEx, our way to keep party members informed. Bama is the epitome of what we are about, which is promoting members from within based off of their work and enthuiasm rather than their name recognition.

She is a newer member of the party that came in and showed her awesomeness by being active on the forum and great with other players. In just a month, she became a key member of the fun zone team, and now has her own dept. It is this type of opportunity that truly sets us apart.

We also have some other newer players making waves, and we will touch on that right about now:

As for those moments that define a party and shape its future, we’ve had TWO of them in the past week. I’m very proud of the way that we have responded. The first is SHIELD.

BigC is having some computer problems, and thus cannot be as active as he would like for a little while. He messaged me telling me that and that he believes that this is too important of a time for SHIELD to have a CO that cannot be as active as he would like to be.

So first things first: This is why I love BigC. He is a man that not only knows his limits, but that will put his MU, Party, and Country above himself. He did a lot in his short time as CO of SHIELD, and we should all be forever grateful for EVERYTHING that he has done for our MU and party. He truly is someone that we should all aspire to be.
We set off to find a replacement for BigC, and there was some criteria that I had. The first was stability. We have gone through our fair share of CO’s in SHIELD, and I think that it’s time to find a long term solution. I also wanted someone that knows the MU, is highly active, and that can increase the visibility of the MU.

We put together a list of people that we could talk to, but one person to me stood out on that list: WookyJack, the current XO. WookyJack is someone that recently returned to the game and joined the Federalist Party, and has been one of our most active members since day one. He is a media superstar, making our media the best in the game. He has worked under BigC as XO for a short while, and has done an outstanding job.

WookyJack is the new CO of the Federalist MU, SHIELD. The only issue was that he is still a little bit of a newer person. That however is not a big concern, because he excels at literally EVERYTHING that he does. And luckily for us, we have the perfect person to help him through the early stages of his new venture: CrashThompson, who also serves as our retention director and is someone that has always been an instrumental part of the MU and party. Crash is one of the finest members that the Feds and SHIELD have, and he has always been one of the hardest working people in the party. Simply put, the Feds wouldn’t be the Feds without Crash.

The SHIELD MU is in great hands with Wooky as CO and Crash helping him for a little while. I’ll let Wooky tell what his plans are, but I look forward to working with him. The future is bright in our MU with Wooky at the helm.

The other, of course, is the work tax debate in Congress.

In case you missed it, you can see the whole thing unfold in the eusaforums here:http://eusaforums.com/forum/index.php/topic,31532.0.html. David Wilson also posted an excellent article here: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-congress-working-on-the-work-tax--2400874/1/20

Our party is clearly for the reduction of the work tax to 8%. Us along with BSP stood united in our call for a lower work tax, as we believe that it will help out citizens in this nation and this nations Private Mu’s. The 8% number is a percentage that will allow us to maintain our current budget and put money back for SCI spending, thus ensuring that we do not deficit spend.

I believe that this coming Congressional election will be a test of the support for lower taxes from you, the citizens of the United States. If you want your work tax lowered, there is a great way to accomplish this: Vote for the parties that supported your vision. Vote for the parties that want the same thing you do, a lower, fair, responsible work tax. We as a party will continue the fight on this issue, but we need your help, no matter which party you are from.

If you believe that the work tax is an issue that should discussed, simply put, you know which parties are on your side.

YOUR VOTE IS YOUR STRONGEST STATEMENT.

Feds, make sure that you sign up for Congress in game and on our application here:
