Will our babies survive?

Day 1,639, 09:47 Published in United Kingdom Poland by Sigfred Zachariasen

eUK has experienced a babyboom of new players, giving us a total population of more than 6,000 players. If only these were all active players, the situation would most likely be a different one. A babyboom is of course a good thing for any country, but the most important thing is to keep these players alive and active. But how many from this babyboom will actually keep on playing?

So I decided to do a small experiment, employ as many brand new players within my budget to check how many returns after their first visit. The following graph shows work activity from those brand new players.

Even on the first day, after applying and getting a job only 75% actually works. On Day 2 it drops to 25%, and on Day 5 it's down to 7%. Remember, that these are new players that actually started playing the game by applying for a job. We could therefore assume, that some of the new players would abandon the game before applying for a job, so the 7% could possibly be too high.

If we go with a 5% retention rate, and a estimated babyboom of 4,000 new players, that would leave us with 200 new active players. CP Appleby states that the current number of new active players should be more like 350 (8.75😵 - see comments below.

Of course, this is a small experiment with limited data available, but the numbers gives us an idea of the question; "Will our babies survive?".
