Why must we let it come to this?

Dear people of ePoland, neighbours, brothers,
With shock I had to discover that your government is planning to join eSweden in the unfounded and immoral war against eGermany. I must say I am severely disappointed that you are capable of such an act of betrayal, to greedily jump on an ally already down on the floor, not only poking them with your bayonets but also delivering the killing strike to an already crumbling ATLANTIS. You should feel ashamed for this cowardly act of blind expansionism at the coast of a friend, a nation which fought on your side during the Hungarian invasion, one trying to support a peaceful relationship with you.
Nonetheless, I thank the few brave Polish congressmen voting against the declaration of war. Even if you will be outvoted and your efforts will be futile, you're showing the world that not all of ePoland is overwhelmed by imperialistic desires, and that it would be wrong to condemn the Polish nation as a whole.
Please, people of ePoland, rethink your decision and retreat from this foolish stance most of you have taken. What worth is it backstabbing a friend when he's in a most critical situation?

Polish society is very divided about this. I suppose some players may want war just to have possibility to gain more experience, welness and not to get bored (wars are recently rare in Poland).
I for example voted "no" in public opinion polls bur I guess "yes" has the majority at the moment.
It's sad indeed. In fact, we don't have any reason to attack You now. This is just a case of f***n' democracy.. I am against the war.

I do not agree with the congress decision and will fight against Poland in the upcoming battle. This war is sensless and weakens atlantis even more...

@Borzymir: I was referring to those of you or the members of your government which do indeed support the war and have initiated this act, whereas in the later part I am addressing the Poles with dignity and pride who do not wish to fight a meaningless and morally questionable battle.

Do not talk about morality. You're from eGermany... That was you who attacked and conquered ePoland. Later, that was you who - beeing given by eSweden an opportunity to reclaim independency - broke a treaty signed with eSweden and used PEACE forces to fight against Swedes. Your words are just dust in the wind.
Ignorance is indeed bliss, as I joined eRepublik after all these wars had already ended and myself only experienced eGermany as a peaceful member of ATLANTIS, supportive of its allies and without any cravings for selfish empowerment of their own state.
I am, however, aware of the German past, yet old conflicts that have long been settled should not be brought up months over months later to justify aggressive actions, or at least not if the parties involved have returned to the status quo ante bellum (and I do not see any parts of Poland still being under German control).
