Why is Congress refusing to lower the VAT on Weapons
![Turkey](http://www.erepublik.net/images/flags_png/S/Egypt.png)
cuperous
Today Congressman Ahmad Gamal has proposed that we reduce the VAT (Value Added Tax) from 25% to 15%.
With the increase the VAT, the manufacturers of weapons will increase the price of their weapons and that will then have a negative effect on the war.
We are during war time, weapons should have a low VAT!

You don't know game mechanisms...
go to ewiki and look under economy page
I did and explained that if you sell something for 10 EGP for instance and the VAT is 25% then the government will take 2.5 EGP and the final profit for the seller will be 7.5 EGP
So the person selling will need to increase the price of the item to get the final profit that they want in order to get enough money to cover empolyees and get some profit to continue production.
If there is something that I don't understand, please clarify.
cuperous FAIL BIG FAIL OMFG FAIL
if you put something on market for 10 egp, then price will be 12.5
but if you sell something for 10 egp, then government takes 2. WHY?!
Because its VALUTE ADDED TAX, not final price tax... meaning, if you put a price of 8, 25% will be added, and 25% of 8 is 2 so price will be 10, and if you sell for 10, 8 will go to you. eRep calculator makes it a bit easier. if you put a price of 10, he will automatically recalculate it to 8 and add tax making it your chose price of 10 🙂
@Cuperous
Next time you should first ask and understand game mechanics and then to put a law for voting.
FAIL!
article fail ! *facepalm*
you could ask someone in private message to explain you if you dont know game mechanics..
All taxes should be set to zero. The state does not deliver any service to all the citizen (except for the very occasional weps distribution) - so why do we need to give any taxes to the government?
Franz...what do you want to give the country to you?
1 q5 company for weapons maybe?!
I will quote one american president in real life:
"Ask not what your country can do for you
but what you can do for your country."
@Adriatic_Rage Thanks for the information. I'm trying to understand game mechanics like you said. The information I read in the wiki might be wrong, please refer to the below link, especially the paragraph:
"
Example: If a citizen decides to sell one unit of Food for $1.00, and the countries VAT for food is 5%, then he will earn just $0,95 for that unit of Food (1.00-0,05).
So be careful when you place an offer on the market. A good idea to avoid losing money is to calculate your real income once VAT is applied, before to place the offer.

Anyway, thanks for the information. And whether you are raising the tax on the buyer or the consumer, this should be lowered during War Time.
@sofia_8711 I love that quote, John F Kennedy, great President.
Why should we give anything to a country not controlled by its own people?
You sure?Because I see that the people who controlled the country are eEgyptians.
