Hello, thanks taking the time to give a read on some of my thoughts. I'm an old codger by Erep standards, I'd like to think that I've seen a fair bit in my time and that my views are pretty balanced. Of course there is no such thing as the "TRUTH" as we all view things through our own looking glass.

Wes Lewis and the Theft

Although it is Still fairly early on most people have now heard that the eCanadian Treasury has been robbed yet again. Some reports say the damage was only 1500 gold, I've seen another that said 2500 gold. Currently Wes Lewis is claiming hackers did it, however given the scandal surrounding his election it seems a little unlikely. Furthermore, the current article up by Rolo tahmasee regarding the CAF supply spreadsheets were almost undoubtedly supplied to him by Wes Lewis; call me crazy but i don't think a hacker would bother to do that.

tl;dr - Wes Lewis more than likely DID steal it and wasn't hacked.

As mentioned above currently Rolo has an article up regarding the CAF supplies which is an OBVIOUS attempt at re-directing attention away from himself and the recent theft. Furthermore, Rolo proposed an impeachment vote of Wes Lewis, which on the surface would seem to indicate he and Wes are not in cahoots. However, if one thinks about it, technically congress SHOULD automatically vote this down according to congressional procedure any proposed legislation that was not discussed on forums would be an automatic vote of NO. BUT, if this were to happen we could not propose another impeachment for another 5 days (or something). So in reality Rolo is screwing with us again. I honestly find myself wondering if Wes is just a Rolo Multi and if we haven't been robbed by the same guy twice.

Wes, Rolo & TCO

Although it's not my place to publish TCO business, As a die hard Crimson I must speak because TCO is really one of the few things I care about in this game.

1) It is my firm belief that TCO was also robbed by Wes Lewis. This is going back a few months, and there wasn't any fanfare, but a few months back we had a weeks' worth of supply gold go missing. During this time I believe Wes Lewis had access to our orgs as a legion sargeant. I find this all to co-incidental, and therefore sincerely believe that not only was Wes not hacked and that he did it , but that TCO was also robbed. (shortly afterward he left to the U.S. right after we tightened up security on our orgs)

2) While The Crimson Order community doesn't give a shat what outsiders think of us. We care deeply about our members. Today the TCO executives unanimously decided that henceforth Wes Lewis and Rolo will be banned from membership, IRC, Forums access and kicked out of our companies. This was due to pressure from inside our community. While the final decision was with the exec's (homer, JRC, Damien, Charles) it was the tribe that brought the situation to bear.

tl;dr ; We're pretty sure Wes stole directly from TCO a while back & the members of The Crimson Order community can no longer accept Rolo or Wes as members... the tribe has spoken.

You can all say I told you so now... but what did we learn?

So obviously those that wished to impeach Wes Lewis were right from the get go. However, they weren't right until Wes actually stole the money and I admit I was in the "give a guy a chance" category. BUT what we really need to learn from this is that we need a group of TRUSTED individuals to administer our country accounts; these individuals should hand out gold on a limited basis so that a raging CP cannot do too much damage.

I KNOW you're thinking, well the guy we give the password to is probably going to steal from us. Well the truth is we have to trust somebody, or else make it so that there are no taxes in this country at all so that there is nothing to steal.

tl;dr = Country Presidents should henceforth not be given access to our FULL country accounts, but rather have limited access with a few TRUSTED canadians acting as bankers.

So this is what our 3'rd or 4'th major theft? Did you all know that the DEFINITION of insanity is repeating the same action expecting different results? When are we going to learn that we need to establish a SYSTEM of fail safes to ensure that a raging CP can't do TOO MUCH damage?

Many of you are calling for Wes to be banned from this forum or that chat room, news flash .. THE DAMAGE IS DONE. I call on you all to demand a new and safer way of doing things!



Don't become Jaded
Lastly I would say to you all, don't become jaded, don't be afraid to trust someone new. If we just put the right safeguards in place we can allow new players to take up mantels of responsibility. Think of Jacobi when he was first elected CP, at that time he had only served in congress twice and what an exceptional contributer to Canadian Society he became. Think of TemujinBC, many of you didn't trust him because he was from TCO, but oh how he surprised you by doing a great job.

The next great eCanadian is out there, it is our job to make sure that they have the opportunity to have fun with this game too. More specifically I believe it is congress' Job to make sure these safeguards get put in place.
