Why Do We Do This to Ourselves?

Day 1,246, 21:34 Published in USA USA by ArcNox

The various positions of power in this game are notorious for eating up horrendous amounts of free time, with virtually nothing gained in return. The executive is one giant black hole where your free time mysteriously disappears, never to be seen again. The singular issue of quorum in Congress has driven men to the brink of madness. And god help you if you do anything even remotely related to elections. To those who do, I’ll send my condolences to the nearest asylum. As I thought about this, the same question kept coming up:

Why do we do this to ourselves?

The most obvious answer, and the one I came up with: We’re all a bunch of masochists

It could be some twisted form of commitment or misguided patriotism, ambition or simple egomania, but most likely we all feel we have to devote our free time and sanity to this game as punishment for some ineffable wrongdoing.

I am one of those poor sods apparently, since, against the voice of reason screaming in the back of my head not to, I have decided to ask to run under the Libs for Congress.

Yeah, it’s another one of these articles. I promise, I’ll get an actual quality article out one of these days. Eventually

I’m running under the Libs in Nova Scotia this election. If elected, I promise to rule this land as Nave would have wanted.

So vote for me. tia~
