New President and Cabinet
by OMFG Staff
From the first hour of Election Day, Hero of the Resource Wars Yui "Ike" MHCP001 took a commanding lead and never looked back. While the numbers of votes trickled in throughout the day, his percentage rate never fell below 52%.
Having led the Battle Management Team, American and Allied fighters in IRC Rizon #ResourceWars to a decisive 19/20 conclusion, Yui has clearly been elected on the confidence he'll lead the nation through the military and economic challenges to come.
Here's the rest of President Yui's Executive Leadership Team:
New Designated Strike Times, Map and Analysis
by NSC Chair Kalos Hoenn
With all sides packing our bags, it is time to close some of our Training Wars with our re-kindled friends. Here you see Ireland and UK taking back their regions.
🙂Thanks to the hard work of our State Department and NSC team, we have been able to create new bonds that have surpassed previous threads of broken relations from the past.
We must continue our high level of fighting in the Post-Resource War period, as the real fighting has only just begun. Be sure to continue this momentum of activity. When we can coordinate most efficiently, we'll be fighting most effectively.
DSTs (Designated Strike Times) will continue to be held so we can group and attack to win key battles. Be sure to read the DoD Orders for more information.
New eRep Economy Delayed
by OMFG Staff Writer Ilene Dover
Well folks, we may have been had. If you haven't been inclined to click on the big green private message from Plato (maybe fearing a terminal level of Famous Points?) or the red balloon at the bottom of the screen (seriously, how many times does London have to demonstrate it “wants” Wales?!) then there's a sting in the tail of the Second Resource War.
If you were excited at the changing economics (like your correspondent), then this snippet of the latest update has the sadly-familiar feeling of disappointment:
... However, note that even though officially, Day 3,121 is the last day of the Resource Wars, the new resources will not populate the map yet.
The current resources together with the current economy will remain in place for the time being. The post Resource Wars updates will be launched step by step, as one change triggers another.
Wait, what?!
Well, let's think about that for a moment. Every citizen of every country in the eWorld (even the North Koreans) has pushed themselves this month. They have denied themselves sleep. Gained a few pounds eating Doritos while on IRC. Punished their home bandwidth. Slacked off at work. Gone woefully underprepared to exams. Neglected their children. And, in one case, actually gotten a divorce this past month. All in the cause of getting the best possible resources and combinations of bonuses for their eCountry.
Even the eUS Congress, that last bastion of the MAX TAXES ideology, bought into the historic occasion, reducing work taxes to a level not seen since Custer was weaned. And now? Now we have to wait?!
New eUS Economic Stimulus
by CoDepSecMed Illiguy
As you may have noticed, the eUSA Congress recently lowered the work tax from 15% to 1%. In light of the incoming updates from Plato to the economic module, this move made sense to most in Congress. Citizens of any eNation will soon have a chance to move their companies, and the eUSA wants to encourage players from around the New World to locate their companies within our borders.
Many assumed these updates would arrive immediately after the end of the Resource Wars, but Plato has announced this will not be the case. It may be some time yet before players have a chance to move their companies. Plato was pretty vague about it, stating, "The current resources together with the current economy will remain in place for the time being. The post Resource Wars updates will be launched step by step, as one change triggers another."
Did Congress jump the gun on lowering taxes? Was lowering all the way to 1% too drastic? One thing is sure, we're enjoying nearly full paychecks for our Work clicks. Congress will have to decide whether it should stay the course and use Reserve Funds to honor its Budget obligations, or raise rates again until we see a potential influx of new revenue from relocated companies.
This is a dynamic news story. You can keep up with it in the Public Congress forums, and follow our continued coverage in Thursday's Speaker's Word and Friday's WHPR.
eRepublik is finally exciting again. The month-long Resource Wars saw a level of battle strategy and diplomatic strange bedfellows not seen in years. With yesterday's Presidential elections, nations worldwide poise to juggle and jockey for their economic future.
It's a media motherlode. There'll be so much news going on you won't be able to swing a bad metaphor without hitting something newsworthy. When you look for the latest news, you expect to find it-- and find it you shall.
We've assembled an all-star rock star media team, and have developed a single source for (almost) all Official US Government News. Starting today, you'll see absolutely timely delivery of absolutely professional journalism in the three major Government newspapers-- the WHPR, USAF Newsletter and The Speaker's Word. We'll even take another shot at reviving The Pony Express.
Also within this newly expanded US Media group are eNPR (White House Radio), the forum based Press Release and a new series of YouTube videos. Additionally, we are available to the DoD Orders and Citizens Affairs for segment and graphics contributions.

We're always scouting for talent to join the Official Media Filing Group (OMFG). If you can spell your way out of a wet paper bag and string together two coherent sentences, drop us a line and we'll have a look at your work. We also welcome Guest Writers, who may not necessarily want to commit to full time.

Great job!
Who did not assume the changes would be implemented immediately? Fools us, assuming the admins actually had a plan in place.
Why does this 1% tax feel like walking into a Venus flytrap?
Tax is definitely too low. We should get it to 5%, before we need to do something drastic.
Did you say 3%?
I think he meant leaving it at 1%.
Maybe, I don't know how the budget is going. It's super secret.
All this, and Pony Express too?!?
GIDDYUP!!!

Press Briefing 6/6/2016
Nothing is new 🙁
you're right.
Yui has been President several times before.
The USAF Strike Times are exactly the same as always.
The game economy is and will always be the same, as will the eUS economy.
and this silly notion of a huge central government media team, well that's just a rehash of the same way it's always been done.
yep.. nothing new here.
break it up, folks, go on back to your homes and places of business.
but lame trolling?
wow, what a totally unique concept!
I don't recall ever seeing anyone just pop into a Comments section to shit on someone else's parade!
Congratulations, you must be some kind of genius!
xd
