Where to go now Mr. Plato?

I would like to start this lines congratulating Mr. Plato for the idea and development of eRepublik.
Yes, seems that many people often forget that it was Mr. Plato who create, develop and still has to maintain the entire infrastructure that allow us to keep playing this game.
I know many of us buy gold helping him to maintain all that, and much more, nevertheless we can always stop buying gold at any moment but Mr. Plato can’t cancel contracts with provider’s and hired people just like that.
I find it necessary this previous statements in order to make it clear that this is not a “crying” article about the good old days where, allegedly the game was much better.
eRepublik has been created as an attempt of simulate RL, for that we are given the opportunity to develop a eCitizen in different areas of choice, namely Economics, Politics, Media/News.
On the early days of eRepublik Economic module really gave us a sense of management, you really had to make several choices, from the type of factory you build, to the kind and level of workers you hire and on account of good management you could have a profitable operation and step by step you could build an economical empire.
Then one day Mr. Plato you decide to downgrade or if you prefer, keep it simple; well Mr. Plato you manage more than simplify you make it useless….

Now you can only get profit, during some special offers/campaigns or missions, which means we can’t design any development strategy as well as forecast a target.
So basically now we don’t have an economical module….
how to fix economy? why don't you rollback the economic module until the moment where it works? it wasn't perfect but it worked...

As for the military module, there were also several changes, some of the most relevant were:
Ø Eliminate the possibility of retreat,
Ø Eliminate some defensive buildings. Hospitals and defensive system
Ø unlimited energy consumption
Again keep it simple, eliminating the few strategic elements the game had, and not adding any new; so nowadays you have driven the game into an individual challenge, which would not be bad if it only had any degree of difficulty.
Take a look at your game today and you will see that:
Ø no one care or discuss Alliances
Ø there is no goal for any country
Ø there aren’t any babyboom in curse
Ø there is no significant or meaningful battle
The only thing you can see is Players looking for a battle where 1 hit = 1 Kill, in order to maximize energy bars and rank up….
basically now we don’t have a Military module….
So Mr. Plato, nowadays what part of eRepublik is indeed simulating RL?
If you want to invite someone into the game, what would you tell to convince them?

Well said, mr. plato has to realize that to keep players must create motivations, but what he is creating is selfishness and greed on the players. Even if it is subconsciously.

Agreed, there's no strategy, no meaningful wars, at this point all the 'war mod' is is trying to beat your last highscore/Top Campaign damage. We need a complete re-jig of the war module, but the only changes we'll probably see implemented are cosmetic ones with the new battle screen.

I fully agree.
I can only hope, terminate these promotions and activities of winter, and then check how it looks.
After withdrawing the snowmen, candy and gain, the military part will plummet, and left after realizing what will come.
I fear more of the same weapons down due to lower demand price, and the players need to sell.
And realize that changes will come with the new version 4 already announced and tested by some, looking almost FarmeRepublik the home screen.
Hopefully they are just fears, which can improve significantly, to give another cheer for existing players, and encourage new players and new BabyBoom's appear, otherwise you will be condemning this game to a tragic end (I certainly hope not) .
Anyway, no doubt that a good idea, was retreating economic module up to that point was still profitable, or that they have entered a boot to temporarily drain the excess merchandise, if and when it exists, since it will be can give another cheer the game.

economy worked more or less without the work-as-manager
but admins can't just terminate that feature as it would render most companies many of us have useless ...
...well unless you can manage more than 20companies on your own... when you REALLY have to MANAGE them. at least i don't think that i would be capable of doing that very good.
and with many companies becoming useless admins will get many tickets of people whining. so then admins would maybe be forced to give people money for the useless companies (more than just the dissolving money).
this would really much kill the monetary market though with nobody being able to calculate were it will land at the end. and this i think is the thing admins absolutely do not want

The WeeklyChallenge is a smoke screen and create fake activity, because that's just personal reason to fight (dosen't matter where or for who) just to reach more Snownen, EB, and leaderboards ranking vanity.
Without that, what real National Wars would be ? Not much to unite people, defend commun goals, international strategic stuff, etc.

Agree with TemujinBC, but you're right, everything worked in V1, especially the economy (3 work skills, guru** work 'strength' which ePlato (the "new" ePlato, the old ePlato used to write mass mailings sometimes and let you know what was going on), took away and then "compensated" us with some lousy storage, but not strength) the a roller coaster ride from lands to no lands etc, etc. and bankrupt q1 companies.
Additionally, ePlato stated in an interview that: "~50% of the paid staff play", hence we should all unite and attack eBukarest and then Temujin may be proven wrong.
