Whats the Deal with the Military? [UPDATED]
Garven Dreis
Hello All!
First off, I'd like to thank all my supporters during the last elections. It was disappointing to lose by one vote, but I will continue to provide strong opposition to the government.
Cozza's possible backflip!
In Cozza's election platform, It was state😛
"I fully support that policy and I will work with Military leaders and the Ministry of Defence to implement it. With it in place, we should have an effective defence force for Offensive and Defensive purposes. It will let the military groups be under government watch but self run, which will save our government A LOT of money, especially have our most recent gold theft. Other benefits include more motivations and more opportunities for our lower strength soldiers to get weapons."
*Bolded to highlight different points
However, in IRC, Cozza has been seen to be against ERA's policy, so tell me;
What is the deal with the eAustralian Military, and what will happen?
Now, Cozza was elected on a platform of change. Will it only be a matter of time before Cozza decides to change his opinion on other key issues? Will he turn his back on the ERA which sacrificed most of it's credibility in malicious attacks on other opponents.
Until next time,
Garven Dreis
UPDATE:
When confronted on the issue, Prime Minister Cozza removed me from his channel and banned me.

First?
I'd be more than happy if the new military does NOT come in. Too many of our soldiers have told me they will walk if it does. 🙁
I still have no idea why ACUK is so worried when they'll be the best performers under the SPMM. They'll be the top damagers below the Dropbears (as it should be) and will win large contracts.
I smell bullshit
@Patti11
Really? I have quotes from Cozza referring to the SPMM program, and they conflict with his election promises.
People have been impeached (or attempted to be impeached) or similar actions.
You tell me what is bull droppings.
Like I said in IRC: Put up the quotes!
post quotes or gtfo
Patti11: I smell bullshit
/me sees bullshit
@Azi Lazarus.
It is against eRepublik laws to directly quote conversations outside eRepublik without all parties consent. It is a game mechanic.
@Patti11
Is that the kind of response that I can expect from the MoFA this term?
@garven: the truth?
yeah bro
wow someones bitter
Quote it in IRC :3
I have said it before and shall again. I don't support that military model. Either Government runs its military or it doesn't. And, if you don't, then expect that you can not expect them to fight the battles you want. Or, if you are the private funders, the battles you do.
At least, until you are out-bid.
🙁
I'd like to say that I am not bitter one bit. I enjoy debating topics relevant to the eAustralian military,and this would be one of the most important topics around.
Whole article smells a bit like sour grapes to me.
Since when is sour grapes involved with questioning our government. Am I not allowed to comment on what I see within the government without my motives being question, for I am an eAustralian Citizen. It is my right to be able to question my government.
This article isnt questioning the gov this is questioning Cozza's integrity.
it was private and you came in uninvited.
And I would be incorrect that assuming the integrity of our Prime Minster also affects the integrity of out government?
one vote - oh well, there's always next month Garven
I support backflips. They keep us all flexible.
Anyway, it's a woman's perogative to change her mind, right? Think I just discovered something we didn't know about Cozza. She's a woman! That explains the scarf - a particularly ugly woman needs to cover up...
~ Agent Kaos
no Garven this is simply a smear Campaign done because you dont like it that eAustralia voted him in and not you (albeit very narrowly)
notice how your not questioning the system but trying to bash Cozza....
@ everybody who has called 'bullshit'
Garven here is simply stating a possibility. He isn't saying what he lists above will, is or has ever happened. He IS saying that it could be possible, and why.
It's hypocrisy in itself to call a statement untruthful without any proof yourself.
@ Cometshark
One looses his private life when he becomes a leader of a country, regardless on weather or not it is an eCountry. Therefore; Cozza's integrity IS the government.
@ Garven: Unlucky on the election results mate!
As a final note: Congratulations Cozza on the election, I hope you do well!
Ok this is just getting shit, cut the crap and stop being sore losers. So sick of Erepublik crap thats going on, you people are driving others away from this game away from there friends!
Its hurting the country more then its doing any good!
When you fight, eAustralia loss wellness!
Can't we all just, get along?
@Ekky137
THANK YOU! YOU GOT THE POINT OF THE ARTICLE 😃
Why did you put a picture of Russian presidents?
Cozza has told me that he supports SPMM, but he does not want to jump into it headfirst. We need to make sure we cover all the angles and make it as watertight as possible before we actually do it.
Garven, thank you for undermining the government's attempts to implement its policies AFTER it was elected. That will be extremely useful.
I was on IRC last night and i saw the quotes and all i could say that there werea few @#$% words and Cozza was NOT AT ALL acting like a PM i supported you Cozza but with how you have been acting i just cant even force my self to i support the ERA plan but i do not support you and how you act personaly atm. Garven is TELLING the truth people and he wouldnt lie so please unless you actually no what is going on then please shut the @#$% up lol jks but seriously.
Just to post out befor anyone might get angry here they migt not of been the quotes from the moments Garven was talking about but this was after he was kicked im sure of it.
@ Nigel Read
Garven's newsletter here isn't at all impeding the government's policies. I mean... If people vote up this article are Cozza's negotiating skills going to be negated?
No. So stop complaining.
"Garven, thank you for undermining the government's attempts to implement its policies AFTER it was elected. That will be extremely useful."
I have explained my take on expressing my views above.
The Military needs cookies! period.
Happy Birthday.
Im in ACAR, but fight in all battles, and have only ever received weapons....twice, even though I respond to all rollcalls.
Its not like I'm missing out on anything, as a rarely receive weapons from the gov anyway. Maybe they should try fixing the current structure, particularly in ACAR
ACAR, or AAR as we like to call it now, has always been short on funding and organisation. I've suggested to Cozza that if this new model be brought in at all, that AAR would be a good test for it. Personally, I'm still against bringing it in at all, unless it is changed dramatically.
Me thinks that someones still a bit unahppy!
sounds like someones a little bit butt-sore from losing (garven dreis)
sincerly,
alice_d
Where's a picture of Picard facepalming when you really need one?
FFS....
Garven: "I have explained my take on expressing my views above." I would buy that, perhaps, if it came from an impartial source... but you were Cozza's political opponent in the last election.
Look, I understand that people are disappointed at losing an election. I also understand that some people may genuinely believe that the SPMM is not a good idea. But the government was voted in on a mandate of pursuing the SPMM and other policies, and they're bloody well going to do it. Because that's democracy. Now, before you point out that the election was only won on 1 vote, I'd like to point out that a party of 55 people (at that time), without support from any other party, convinced roughly a quarter of the voting population to vote against their own party. Perhaps you should give some genuine thought as to why that happened.
So... anyone who's interested in helping the government with its election promises, please pm Cozza or one of his ministers. Otherwise, please have some respect for the decision made by the eAustralian people during the last election.
i voted for cozza, and normaly i dont vote in the elections unless im running. but cozza still would have won due to experience points difference. 😮
@Nigel Read - I think you need to read up on represtative democracy if you think that a new president's policies will be passed. Check the section on the 'Senate'
mudslinging aside - what is the plan for the military ?
http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/comment-on-era-s-policy-outsourced-military-1076241/1/20" target="_blank">http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/comm[..]/1/20
FallbackPants: Is that really the best counter you can think of? In reality, once elected, a senator or prime minister can pretty much do whatever they want, short of breaking the rules. That doesn't mean that they *should*. Don't you think that even senators should attempt to represent the actual wishes of the voters, rather than what they personally feel is best for the country?
Seeing how incredibly unpopular the ERA's military policy is amongst other parties, I don't think it's at all unfair to suggest that Cozza putting it to the Senate will see it get voted down in a fiary hell storm.
He could be PM for 8 terms and unless ERA gains a majority of Senators I doubt this policy would pass.
FallbackPants: "Seeing how incredibly unpopular the ERA's military policy is amongst other parties"
How did you come to that conclusion? Have you canvassed the members of those parties? Or have you simply spoken to a small number of people currently in charge of those parties? If so many people object to Cozza's policies, how did he win the last election?
No, I just see this as the continuing trend of eAustralian politicians to do whatever the hell they like. There's too many politicians simply making decisions without attempting to canvas the opinions of the people they're supposed to represent, as if they know better than everyone else what's best for Australia. I'm tired of it, and I'm tired of all the behind-closed-doors policy-making. We've got policies, now, that are out in the open, and the eAustralian people have voted on them... And you want to block them?
lol i kinda feel guilty about the 1 vote thing cuz wen i voted i thought 1 vote wont make much difference and with cozza high advertising i voted for him. SORRY 😁
