What happened to the good ol' days?

When I first started playing Erepublik a year ago, I was drawn in by the allure of helping the USA "conquer the world". There were daily battles with France and Spain as the USA had a stronghold in Aquitaine, France.

Since then I see the daily battle orders are often helping other countries wage particular wars here and there.

What would it take to get America back in the saddle and taking over land more than the occasional battle over in Taiwan?
