What are YOUR Military Goals?

HeadmistressTalia
In previous articles I've asked you about taxes and governmental spending. Now I'd like to get some real detail.
Specifically - what are your military goals?
Do you want to win wars?
Do you just want to gain experience?
Do you want LOTS of battles?
Do you want peace?
I'm asking because all of these goals have different financial needs. Right now congress is trying to develop a budget. But we can't do that without figuring out how to fund our military. And that depends on our ultimate goals.
So tell me, What are YOUR goals?
Comments
You know Talia, you are on of the few congress mems that do this. I applaud you for it. America needs more like you in Congress.
voted.
Thanks! I don't ever want to forget that the people I represent have opinions too.
I agree with Vice Pres. DaSmoe. Everyone else is speculating and deciding what THEY want in the game. You're asking the people that you're representing. Voted.
I want to win. Gain lots of experience and have lots of battles.
I want to liberate eIsrael!
I'm interested in an officer position.
That and kicking ass.
Well Talia if you must know my goals are to kick Facist PEACE behind but aside from that I don't think we are in a proper position to be fighting any wars.
'I want to win. Gain lots of experience and have lots of battles.'
He took the words right out of my mouth.
'I'm interested in an officer position.'
And I'm interested in that too.
tonight pinky, i want to take over the world! 😉
Talia is my hero. My opinion: Experience first, and fun from battles would be the first priorities. Winning is only important if we're defending ourselves or interested in imperialism.
'I want to win. Gain lots of experience and have lots of battles.'
I third that motion
You all know where I stand lol.
...To Make Field Marshall.
Only 2 more promotions to go.
free eNatiosn under imperial oppression (israel, greece and so on)
I have very little desire to forge myself a career in the military, but I really want the experience. I've only (poorly) fought in one battle, so I have no way of gauging whether or not it's fun, but that'd be a bonus! But yeah, experience all the way.
To strengthen the country, we must have battles. Whether in the form of war games, supporting resistance, or fighting all out world wars, they are vital in making us stronger as a whole (see Indonesia).
So I support continual conflict and I hope to continue to be involved in the eArmy and rank up.
My goal is to forge the eUSMC into the most efficient and powerful military force in the eWorld. I want to perfect lines of communication and systems of logistics so that we effectively bring our vast military potential to bear in all global conflicts.
And I want to put my boot to the backside of every Indo punk that spams our media.
lets take over every single territory in the game...
or better yet just lots of wars that we win and help nations stay independent
I want peace, and i'm not talking about the aliance . But before we can have peace, we shall have war. Before the "pax romana" , the whole world was conquered by a small, but determined nation.
Taking part in pacifying the eWorld, is a great chalenge, but also great fun. 🙂 getting to know other people, developing relationships based on thrust and honour can mostly achieved in military branches. 😉. So, fighting for world peace is my goal.
You do realize that winning will take mega cash. Which means higher taxes! Are you still cool with winning as a goal?
Well Talia, I've thought about that long and hard.
I can't say I love it, but hell, at some point even I'm willing to bite the bullet for a bigger epeen.
I'd like to get military experience, and help liberate occupied countries.
But the cash needs to be raised in a way that doesn't destroy the economy and starve less-experienced citizens. That is exactly what the proposed 20%-25% income tax will do.
I guess we need higher taxes then!
really there are six things a player can spend money on. the fist 3 are basically useless with out war and they are moving tickets, weapons, and gifts. the next one is the house you buy which you never have to buy more than one.
the last two include buying your food(very cheep) and buying your own company. and if you really want your own company even if taxes are 25% it will not keep you from getting it eventually since there are no other expenses besides cheep food.
so why not spend our money on war, because there is not much else to spend it on anyways. so leave us the option to spend our money the way we want and keep taxes high.
I undertsand your point, but somehow Indonesia and Romania are doing quite well with virtually no taxes. How can that be?
What do the Indos do to sustain such military might? Their ranks are filled with soldiers with 8, 9 10+ strength, not to mention dozens of the mightiest players in the game. They do it all with 1% taxes?? Why is taxing the public the only way?
@Tremaine - It's not the only way. We can easily "wargame" with Canada or Mexico over and over again to gain experience without spending mega-cash-reserves to do it.
In fact, there is no solid reason against such a strategy that anyone's been able to give.
Here are my answers (in order)
1. Not necessarily
2. Gaining experience is pretty high up there but wellness is the goal for me
3. Not enough battles to drain our money but enough where we get a few good fights
4. I want peace. We cant be constantly at war. Its too costly.
From an 11 day old's perspective just about anything would be better than sitting around while congress sticks it's collective thumb up the country's butt and argues about the VAT on toast.
There are two truths that seem to carry over from RL:
1. The government is never going to have enough money to do everything that it wants.
2. No matter what we do, somebody is not going to like us.
Just pick some tax rates already, if they don't work it will become apparent soon enough and you can change them. Stopping government for 3 days to argue about them isn't helping anybody.
Quit worrying so much about being the "bad guy" We need some battles and soon. Our country's best warriors aren't going to stay in a place where they can't show off their muscle and our new warriors aren't going to stay where they can't get experience. I'm pretty sure many of our strongest fighters have already left the country but would gladly come back if we gave them the opportunity to fight. If we battle, they will come.
My military goal is to actually get into a fight. If I can't do it here then I guess I'll have to go someplace else. Regardless of the toast VAT.
taur: History check: We did have a previous tax policy and it was the common CTPA, which was discovered to actually bring break-even treasury results *without* war or conflict. These tax discussions are not halting government process, just tax changes. We are still operating and making decisions fine.
My goal is to conquer countries n make the whole world understand that America is not a small country I wanna fight i wanna win n we will win
