Hello citizens of the UK,
Its me, Dish, the guy you've seen dropping in on your media for the last few months. I've been a rather busy bee on Erepublik, with the US's Army, and a couple terms of Presidency so I am here to be semi-retired (at least from politics for a while). I do intend on making contributions to the UK, although I am not sure how quickly that will happen since I plan on taking it easy for a week or so (being President is time consuming, so this ought to provide some relief).
As for where I am, I was approached by Katie several times over the last month (as she currently serves as the ambassador to the US among other things) and she offered to give us a proper home in Liverpool when we landed in the UK. I will have a few people joining me at some point, probably in the next week so if the population jumps a bit you'll know why.
I have some pretty well rounded skill levels, so I will post my CV. I have been trying to get my skill in gifts up (yes I know the system changes in V1, no I dont care as it's something I've been doing for a couple of months). If someone from the gift sector can give me a job I'd appreciate it. I have enough food to last a few weeks, and I sell my own Q4 food from the States if it gets to that, but I am sure it wont.
All in all, I owe some people a drink or two (Widdows, Skinny, Kaleb, and FD among them, but there are certainly plenty of fellows here that I know). I'll probably stay until I find something like a war to do, and maybe, just maybe (but I doubt it) if a couple months down the line I get back into politics I might make the UK my home for that too. Havent quite decided, and not sure if I want to try my luck. Foreigners, no matter how well intentioned arent usually seen well in that light, and trust me I have no ill wishes to the UK at all.

you do realise it will cost a company 40% of their sales to hire you in gifts?
we are not hiring in the gifts sector atm

Erm, wait. I have plenty of money, so if you are worried about my money and food supply then dont be, I\'ll be fine. I set out to get skills to a certain level, so I will maintain that.
On that note, however, I realize you think a planned economy is best (and utopically speaking it probably is in this format) however, you cant really say \"We arent hiring in gifts\" because you dont control every gift company in the UK. If I remember correctly, I think I said I have some well rounded skills, but would appreciate a job in gifts. I dont remember demanding one.

Well, as I said I would have preferred gifts, but anything is fine I suppose. Not real picky.
Once I get more in tune (and rested) I will probably be more vocal both here and on the forums.
PS - We\'ll see if I can help Liverpool give Belfast a run for it\'s money 😛
umm Dish at the moment the tax in the gifts sector is 50% Most of it gets refunded if the GM\'s don\'t hire any new people under the level of skill 3.
So in effect there is an element of control over the GM\'s
