Weekstrom on Weekly Challenge

Day 2,163, 05:00 Published in Netherlands Netherlands by Weekstrom

A quick article and due to time limitations only in English. As that's against our precious lawbook, but I consider it more wise to provide you with the information in one language then not providing it at all I could have published it as MoF (some saw I even did) but decided to make it a personal publication so people won’t be able to make fuzz about that….

What should you do with the current weekly challenge? Should you aim for the strength bonus or the 50 EB’s you get for every 1.000 prestige in the end? It depends on the type of player you are;

Normally focused on training?
As low level player (Anyone not in D4 imo) focusing on training; Keep doing that! Don’t use this challenge for the extra strength; You gain 300xp for the first 10 strength. That’s a very large amount of xp for that amount of strength. The extra 20 strength costs you another 200 xp. Better than for the first 10 strength, but still 30 strength at the cost of 500xp is way too high.
Having said that; Gaining the first extra 10 EB is out of the question as well of course as for that you would need a total of 2.000 xp to gain them.

That leaves one option that could make it worthwhile; If you’re short on storage the extra 1.000 storage capacity you gain for 400xp which saves you 1.750cc could be a worthwhile investment. As a bonus you get the first 10 strength as well. For a 100xp extra you gain the other 20 strength but I still don’t consider that worth it.

Normally aiming for the DO every day?
If you already were aiming for your daily DO (Apart from the fact if that’s the wisest thing to do) the picture is slightly different. On average you will need between 50 and 75 hits for your DO. Say 63 a day. The challenge lasts a week so you’ll have 441 prestige points in a weeks’ time. Depending on the amount of prestige you have at the end of the week as a result of that you might consider going for the extra 20 strength you gain at 500 prestige. If your daily strength gain normally already is higher than the basic 5 it’s hard to imagine that investing more than a few extra xp/prestige would be worth it so in general I’d say; don’t.

Normally using all your health to fight?
You’ll have the strength points. All of them without a doubt. But what would be a wise aim? Let’s look into a very optimistic scenario; At the start of the challenge your health is fully loaded. By that I mean you’re full and have a full replenishment bar as well. Let’s also assume you have extra health centres so you have a full bar with 650 health. Fully loaded would mean having 1.300 health at the start which equals 130 prestige you gain in the first minute (Note I don’t even take you’re working and training into the equation that also costs health at the cost of prestige). So after the first minute you have 130 prestige. You need another 20 to boost you’re energy faster. That’s after 2 hours so after 2 hours you would have reached the 150 prestige mark and gain 200 health per hour from that point on. As the challenge lasts a week, there will remain another 166 hours, or 33.200 health. That health, all put into prestige, gains you 3.320 prestige if you can use it all. In effect that means you won’t sleep more than 3¼ hours in a row nor be off-line longer that that during daytime. Added to the 150 you had it would mean 3.470 prestige. So you’ll have the 10 EB’s from the 2.000 prestige mark. To get the 50 EB’s from the 4.000 mark you would need another 530 prestige. For that you need 5.300 health which is 53 EB’s to gain 50 and as noted this is a very optimistic calculation without you training and working nor sleeping normal stints. So the conclusion can only be that aiming for the 50 EB’s can’t be worthwhile for anyone as you need to invest more than you would gain.

Should the admins decide to introduce the triple effect of epic battles as was the case during the epic warfare event things might alter a bit but as the rewards are not progressive the chances of becoming worthwhile are slim.

Note also the effect of GF that you could have during the epic warfare event is nullified now as GF also rewards you depending on health used so there is no difference with doing normal hits.
