We Live In Interesting Times
Sir Gulden Draak
Well America, it seems that our war with Canada has moved on from a lets whip them out and measure them contest, to a full blown pissing contest. Canada said this, USA did that, and personal communications have been leaked from both sides. In my personal opinion, this is all just bullsh**. It is politicians from both sides, who haven't a f-ing clue what they are doing, engaging in a game of chicken to see who will back down first. Neither side will set aside their ego, because each side insists on blaming the other side for what has transpired. Each political wing trying to convince their citizens that they are right, and that they should fight for them so that the politicians can win their game of chicken and not be embarrassed.
Caught in the middle of all this of course, is the citizens. Each citizen is forced to make a decision on whether to engage a long term ally and friend in battle, and risk being called a traitor by your fellow citizens; or to back down, not fight, and risk being called a coward by your fellow citizens. To the citizens of the USA and Canada, you are right.
Make the decision you feel is right, and forget what others say
Whatever decision of the two you chose, it is the correct one. Normally, I would not say this as there is usually a clear choice to be made. However, in a situation as complicated as this, I feel that every citizen should have the ability to make the decision that they want too, and not receive ridicule from their fellow citizens about it. If you want to play Nave's Revenge, or Can-AM 2, that is your decision and I respect it. If you chose to lay down your arms, and not fight against a long time ally I respect that as well. However, as a voting citizen of the USA, if you have made the decision to fight against the USA, I am afraid I cannot respect that. Whether you like it or not, Evry is the democratically elected CP of USA, and as such the Commander-in-Chief. No matter how stupid, and egotistical you think the decision may be, Evry is still in charge. However, I guess if you aren't receiving government funds nothing can really be done to you, just know that I shame you and I know you all care about that 🙂
.
In conclusion, to citizens of both nations do what you think is right. To the politicians of both nations really responsible for this, know that the citizens are getting a little tired of this pissing contest. I think we can all agree, that historically nations in eRep tend to exceed when they don't have to constantly worry about what their neighbor is up too. So here is a brilliant idea, on the count of three put down your guns, get to an IRC room, and hash this out. It is better for everyone involved if you do.
Stay thirsty my friends,

PS- I'm running for Congress in Orgeon, your vote would be appreciated

TRIUMVIRATE FOR PRESIDENT
YES
Here, here!
I have fought for the Defense against the Attacker in both US attacks on Manitoba and Quebec, and the Canadian attack on Vermont. My hope is to help minimize region changes between these two great friends until cooler heads, and game mechanics, can catch up.
I don't feel at all bad about that. As a side benefit, it was really fun watching emerick be all pissed off about it. 😛
Indeed.
Personally I'm choosing to fight for the US because those are my orders and that's how the military works, like it or not, you follow orders, drop damage where you're asked, rinse and repeat. Some other military members choose to do other and I respect their decision so long as they respect mine.
There doesn't need to be a justification. Neither side has to be blamed. This has shaken the status quo and made the game interesting again. Inactive people have gotten active. This reminds me of the early days of eRepublik when things were done for the fun of it. Lately the game has begun to mimic real life where there are so many diplomatic hoops to jump through that it in no way resembles the escape from real life we all started playing.
I blame each and every congressman.
Shame on me then, I defend a long time ally of the US but I do not attack the US.
BTW, since we are talking blame and shame. I still remember when you tried to PTO the UIP and Kemal did me a favor and paid you off by letting you have a party he PTO'ed from Ajay. Funny shit, but you need to git da f*** off yer white stallion and quit acting like you're some kind of moral compass for this country.
I wasn't gonna ever bring that up 'cause I still have some respect for ya. But keep it up...
I'm enjoying killing maple syrup miners.
interesting indeed.
You are funny Code-Y
CANAM 2: NAVE'S REVENGE
Voted
Each morning my first 25 kills are per MU orders, after that I use MY food and MY weapons and fight for an Ally of my choice who is fighting against a ONE Nation.
'Inactive people have gotten active.'
Sadly the ones coming back from inactivity are citizens like Emerick who cares only about himself and saw a chance to be relative again...
'Lately the game has begun to mimic real life...'
This game is a 'real life' simulator, it is played by 'real life' citizens....
@Thedillpickl: If by try to PTO your party and totally revive it, then yes I am guilty. How is the UIP doing by the way?
By your logic, the American Revolution was wrong. An oppressive and corrupt democacy is still oppressive and corrupt. Until game mechanics allows "the tree of liberty to be watered with the blood of Patriots and Tyrants", fighting for eCanada against eUS aggression is a moral choice. Peace is possible if Evry chooses. Until then, I could care less if Canada wipes the eUS in response to our government's actions.
Voted, great!
