Hello my Irish Brothers,
So, today I decided that I was going to pack my bags and head home. I was away from eIreland for a long time, too long.
When I left eIreland, I traveled to the eNetherlands and met many good people there. They were very kind and accepting. Though, the language barrier really kept me from being a true part of their society.
I decided that it was time to again move, possibly to soon, this time to eCanada to join the TCO. And so I did. I joined and became very active on the IRC (Well, more active then usual for me). The people I met there were very kind and funny.
One day I was reading the media section, and I decided to read some eIrish news. Lots of fighting between had been occurring between the current administration and SHM. So much so, that he decided to leave for the eUS. SHM is a very strong economic mind and I do believe we took a loss here. (I know that I'm going to take shit for saying that)
I decided that it was time to return home. Back to Eire!
Sincerely,
James

P.S.
I wrote this cause I was bored

Happy to have you back james!
Only someone who had never read/ had never understood SHM's economic articles, would ever deny that we lost a great economic mind when he left. Welcome home btw.

"Lots of fighting between had been occurring between the current administration and SHM. So much so, that he decided to leave for the eUS."
SHM has been involved in fighting with not only this government but the last three or four. He is excellent in the field he is dedicated in but he constantly abuses and accuses a field he has no idea about, I always say welcome those who criticise you as they mainly only want to improve things but SHM throws crap at people who even defend him.
Travel safely
Glad to see you back.
You are right about SHM too.
Only someone who had never read/ had never understood SHM's economic articles, would ever deny that we lost a great economic mind when he left. Welcome home btw.
x2
Ireland took a big hit when SHM left , Unfortunately leaving wasn't enough, There are still SHM bashers continuing their campaign of hate (some pres candidate included) only to be satisfied when SHM is no more, But thats what happens here...... Gonzo anyone?
@marcus "I always say welcome those who criticise you as they mainly only want to improve things ........." Joke of the day ??
lol read this it shows how weak britain is http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/ukrp-space-program-fails-to-take-off--1855934/1/20
I believe it would be very bias to suggest only one "camp" has clean hands when addressing the SHH issue.
Also have to question the Gonzo point, Castaneda. Gonzo was a relentless propaganda troll whom never accepted his punishment for letting in British PTOers. SHM was a "misguided angry revolutionist". SHM left because his political ambitions weren't met/supported by the masses, but Gonzo was pushed out by nearly the entire community.
Castaneda you would be one of the few who actually don't think pushing him out was the best move of the Dail. The Dail. And the rest of the elected and vocal people.
The comparison of Gonzo and SHM does not fit. Entirely different situation and reasons.
SHM was very helpful when I joined I hope he comes back soon.
Yes SHM is another valued mind that we here in Ireland can not afford to lose. But the divisiveness that was created by his being here won't be missed. I won't say he caused it because it takes two to tango. We have a habit of nasty arguments here between people with strong opinions. Agreeing to disagree would be nice.
Also welcome back.
Welcome back James.
Traitor!
Oh wait no, I moved to eIreland too.
If you close your ears to all criticism, you will never improve.
The problem was not that SHM was complaining. The problem was the administrations denying any grain of truth in his words. If you only listen to yes-men, you are doomed to failure.
Maybe they should have taken a break from the butthurt, and namecalling, and taken a moment to actually listen to his words. Maybe he should not have been as provocative, and approached some of the issues with more tact. Either way, there was never a true discourse between SHM and the others, which is unfortunate. We did lose a strength in our nation, when SHM was driven out with ridicule.
Chap brought it on himself.
There was never a true discourse. If one wants people to change, to take note of what one says - dont talk down to them or mock them.
I have no idea about the worth of what SHM was saying - I am economically illiterate (maybe).
The only thing I picked up from his posts was a paternalistic arrogance so I did not bother looking any deeper
So I guess everybody lost
Of course both Marcus and Seanan are blatantly lying once again. The harsh verbal exchanges had not been provoked by me at all. Marcus, who now claims he "always say welcome those who criticise" simply called me "an idiot full of shit" in the media, and when I reported his comment he suffered such a serious butthurt that he banned me from the 'official' forum declaring me 'a Hun PTOer'. Of course the 'chap brought it on himself' is both a dishonest and untrue claim. I remember Sweet Drinker warning me in a PM shortly after I made the IA audit, pointing out that the IA's supply system could be improved to increase supplies by 30-50% at least. He wrote 'the IA/ICA bunch' was 'out for my blood'. No insults, trolling or propaganda befroe that time.
From the very first moment, it was nothing else but the incompetent leadership trying to silence voices of criticism. My 'crime' was showing how the mutual toadism of your military-political establishment was vacuous and false.
And of course I haven't left because my "political ambitions weren't met/supported by the masses". First, I had practically no personal political ambitions. When I wanted to reshape the tax system, I became MoF (declineng the offer twice before that). When I wanted to be in congress I won the elections with the most votes (head-to head with Gormley).
I left because I had to admit that my political agenda (and not ambition) turned out to be one supported by only the minority. Observing what was goin on in the EA, I simply understood that my diagnosis was flawed. It's not a dozen of rouges suffocating an otherwise decent community, the sad fact is that the moral and intellectual standards of the majority of the eIrish community are really that low. Theft, corruption, lies and trolling are parts of the political life elsewhere too. However, they are not forgiven, supported, are made moral standards.
So that is why I left: understood that the majority of eIreland will always remain a flock of sheep following a pack of hyenas, and that any attempt by the minority to turn it to a real community is doomed. I must admit Grainne told me so months ago. I was optimistic. Now I'm not. Ireland will remain the fringe of the fringe. An entity not playing but being played with. And to be honest, the majority of this country actually deserves exactly that.
@Seanan Thank you for justifying the relentless trolling , bullying and general all round badness never to stop until those on the receiving end quit the game . You are so full of .....whats the word ... honour.
castaneda:
The paralell between me and Gonzo holds until a very decisive point only.
We've both been loud critics of the ICA gang, and we've both been - to an extent - right. We have also both received immense amounts of trolling, insults and slander for that.
But there is a difference. Gonzo - most probably out of frustration - did something against the _community_ itself, by giving CS to PTOers. Of course the ICA gang blaming him for that are absolutely dishonest: PP did the same and they praise him as a 'patriot' and made him President. But that doesn't mean Gonzo should be forgiven for that. It means PP should be either. I never did anything like that, I stayed loyal to eIreland until the moment I left.
Now this loyalty is gone. Weirdly enough I now support your government exactly for what I had criticised them about so lou😛 for their unconditional obeyance to the leadership of EDEN/Terra, without considerations of your own national interest. From my (new) point of view, eIreland is a useful (yet, considering bullying Belgium, a somewhat untrustworthy) servant of eUS interests. How divided, dishonest and reptile-like your interior political scene is no longer my problem.
"I believe it would be very bias to suggest only one "camp" has clean hands when addressing the SHH issue."
Not sure where I lied in my statement, Stranger - from my view, both you and Marcus-IBhoy have been just as bad as eachother when it came to interacting - I didn't help much either, but even your fellow party members have described your tactics as over the top. I just gave an analysis on the comparison of you and Gonzo. Which I am saying you are not alike, which you seem to agree with - only link I can make is that you both were completely closed off to actual interaction. Which is a common trait in most of Ireland's political history - "camps" and all or nothing mentality, and shouldn't be pinned on just you two.
>And of course I haven't left because my "political ambitions weren't met/supported by the masses". First, I had practically no personal political ambitions.
>I left because I had to admit that my political agenda (and not ambition) turned out to be one supported by only the minority.
Obviously getting tied up over words ambition and agenda, so I'll correct it and assume I said agenda. Makes no difference to the point I was making.
@Castaneda, Gonzo collaborated with PTOers. The Dail set out a punishment for Padraig, and he accepted it - served it. The Dail also set out a punishment for Gonzo, and he did not accept it. I never justified bullying or trolling, the Dail set out a punishment for letting in PTOers - and Gonzo did not carry out his sentence, so the community identified him as a PTOer, and treated him as the rest of them. You personally disagreed with it at the time (and SHM has the opinion the sentence is for life), but welcome to democracy.
But as normal Cast, you'd side with anyone who gives an ICA member trouble, regardless of the reasons. Stems back from the old politics - many of the things the ICA are accused of now (trolling, bullying, PTOing), were exactly the same tactics used against them by you and et al.
Hell, I followed Patton in the IUP against the immoral ICA commie pigs.
He was very good at PTOing other parties, trolling the opposition, etc etc. Bloody hero of the "old regime".
"You are so full of .....whats the word ... honour." x2
"Not sure where I lied in my statement, Stranger - from my view, both you and Marcus-IBhoy have been just as bad as eachother when it came to interacting - I didn't help much either"
You are pretty much lying with every word you put down - no that it would be much of a surprise.
Of course we haven't been 'just as bad'. I've started very nice and polite, and had not sought confrontation BEFORE you (and that you in plural includes you in singular) started trolling, insulting, slandering me full throttle. Saying anything else is simply an obvious and blatant lie and could be clearly disproven by direct quotes and links to various posts and articles.
"Obviously getting tied up over words ambition and agenda, so I'll correct it and assume I said agenda. Makes no difference to the point I was making."
It does of course. However, I understand that you, who has never cared about anything but being listed on all and every cabinet list fail to understand that difference.
"I never justified bullying or trolling"
Mwhhahahahahahahahah!

C'mon, Seanan, grow a spine. You life would be changed, really ...
"You are so full of .....whats the word ... honour." x3
I understand you have to disagree with every single point I make in order to preserve the illusion that I am a lier, that you keep trying to sell but honestly, I have said you and Gonzo are not alike - yes? Okay, good.
For someone who gets caught up on slight words, you'd think you would have noticed "justified". I have not justified, because I don't count a Dail decision as trolling - but regardless, I have trolled, some times had good reason, some times not.
Besides, I can point to a few articles before where you first began peaching the IA was starting a coup during Jac's term ( http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-ire-domestic-internal-politics-1776327/1/20 )- which is the first time you started grouping the IA and ICA together, started with outright lies because for whatever grievances you had with Marcus in the Dail. You were never polite, just as kept your venomous tongue quiet until you got yourself established.
"I understand you have to disagree with every single point I make in order to preserve the illusion that I am a lier"
No, what I do is actually debunking all your lies in order to prove you're a liar. And I must say that's a hell of an easy job.
Like you quoting an article to prove it was me 'making trouble' first, knowing bloody well. that at the time you publishing that trolling I was already banned from the 'official' country forum by a butthurt Marcus Suridius, calling me 'an idiot full of shit', and a 'Hun PTOer'.
You know, Seanen, it's not that I hated you, or was mad at you, it's simply that I feel really disgusted when I see you. There is indeed a big competition in your IA/ICA clique for the title of the Most Dishonest Reptile, but you're odds are undoubtedly nice.
"You were never polite"
Anyone reading the 'official' forum would see what a blatant lie that is - unless you spinelessly deleted my posts as you did to Marcus' and Connell's primitive rants.
